Heise Axxess Gm Data Interface with SWC 2006-2012

If you are ever doing install and won't to retain functions this is the best was to go.

Parts I used:This Axxess AX-GMLAN11-SWC interfaceeRapta ERT02 reverse cameraMetra 40-CR10 antenna adapterMetra 95-3302 dash kitATOTO F7se Android stereoNotes: The Axxess AX-GMLAN11-SWC interface does not recognize the Atoto F7 stereo. Instead of using the 3.5mm female jack on the Atoto stereo to retain steering wheel controls I had to use the female 3.5mm to 2 brown wires adapter included with the Axxess interface's male 3.5mm plug. The adapters Brown/White wire connects to the Atoto's "Steering Wheel Key+" wire. The adapters Brown wire connects to the Atoto's "Steering WheelKey#+" wire. Then follow instructions to change your radio type to Visteon (Type 8). Then use the stereo's steering wheel control program page in settings to set each key. I'm sure this all seems confusing until the parts are in hand but it wasn't too bad once I found these tips in a Subaru forum.The "reverse" wire from the Axxess interface only gave me 12 volts once then was intermittent flashing. I tapped into the light green wire located in the right rear corner of the trunk for the reverse light/camera trigger and capped off the interfaces reverse wire instead.There is a red wire from each of the 2 harnesses that plug into the Axxess interface, connect these 2 to the red wire from the Atoto stereo's harness. I had to cut mine apart to add the 3 together after following instructions step by step that mention 1 ACC red wire at a time from the interface.Stereo seems responsive and steering wheel controls were retained. Wife seems happy with it.

While I have not yet installed the new radio, connecting the wiring from the head unit connector to the interface harness was not easy or very explanatory. Simply changing the wording and explaining better would have reduced my headaches - like what are the green and green/purple wires in the 16 pin harness if they are not used with factory amp or without factory amp? How about saying "when using factory amp" instead of "with amp"? The harness seems complete and should have full functionality with amp, sat radio and steering wheel controls. Only time will tell if all works when I finish the install - still missing some parts (not Axxess harness related)

We purchased this and had a professional installer replace our stock stereo with an aftermarket. So far all features/functions are working perfectly.

This was down there with some of the worst tech support I've ever received. He was very annoyed even being on the call, continuously mentioned the amount of time on the call, and constantly brought up how he could do it if he was there. He refused to acknowledge my observations on the LED on the box and the relay on the harness. The real kicker was when he was giving me a part number and i was just trying to confirm the part number and what it looks like, then he gave me a snarky comment about how he is not here to help me shop and talked trash about my car.The harness did retain chimes and activate my radio, but did not program correctly.

Used this to have a pioneer car stereo installed in a Chevy hhr. The installer at Best Buy says it is faulty and that is why it can’t detect if the parking brake is on and why the stereo can’t interface with the hands free buttons on the steering wheel. Gave the second star because it does at least let the stereo mostly work
