The Neewer VL 300 Plus battery powered strobe has bee a nice unit for rather extensive work. I have had the flash running for six hours and longer at multiple settings. 300-400 or more flashes at medium power and some at full power.The unit comes with a regular AC wall charger and a DC car charger(haven't used that yet). The unit has a low power warning....but still can continue for a few dozen shots at full power before turning off. The flash settings are quite reliable and easy to change.The radio trigger has a receiver built into the flash head and has run flawlessly. You can also trigger it with sync cord or by another flash unit.The only issue I have had is the range between the VL 300 flash head and other flash units used to trigger the flash. The light slave sensor MUST be in direct line of sight in order to operate properly and the distance varies depending on flash output. Using an umbrella or softbox will affect the range where the slave can be used. You have to play with that combination to get good results.Overall, great little unit. It can be in hot direct sunlight for HOURS during outdoor shoots without a problem. For the price, it is well worth it!Full charge to battery takes about 4 hours when almost dead. Green light lets you know when fully charged. The instruction manual is exceptionally good! Many other Neewer strobe lights have minimal instruction guides, but this one covers everything in detail.Fits on standard lightstands. WARNING...use something to add support to stand in breezy weather as the strobe head does have weight and a strong breeze could blow the setup over. Tent stakes on the stand lages or weights is highly recommended.

I'm incredibly pleased with this light. The design is good, the controls and display are efficient and functional, and everything connects smoothly and tightly. I've used it twice on location now, once with battery only and once via AC power, both successfully. For the price I think the included battery and hotshoe flash module make this a no-brainer purchase.Two caveats, neither a deal-breaker. One, be sure to charge the battery twice before using it "for real." The first time I charged it, my battery was not at all full even though the charger indicator light said green for go. I drained it pretty well while testing it, then charged it a second time. This second charge seemed to be a full charge and worked fine on location for 100+ shots at 1/2 to full power.The second caveat is the hotshoe flash module. It works great but there is no tightening mechanism, so it is not necessarily secure on the hotshoe. I know from experience that it can drop out from a six-foot height to concrete and survive, but don't take that silly risk. Use a bit of gaffer tape or something to secure the module to the camera...You'll also want some kind of carrying case to keep everything together, but that's a whole different topic.

I needed some light quick and didn’t have time to wait, so I got these cheap ones and they are definitely cheap and subpar, however they do work. Kinda TOYS ARE US feeling

I bought this flash primarily for outdoor photography, as I wanted to attempt more editorial style photos. This flash PACKS A PUNCH, and was well worth the purchase. Only downside is the portability of the unit, of course a Vision 4 NEEWER flash is my next choice!!

I wrote you'll about order another battery, bulb and CT-1000 fuse for a Neewer VL-300 Plus Ac/DC. I haven't heard from you'll on how I can get these items.

It works well, gives off good light. But I have encountered an issue which I don't know if it's my error or the unit. The modeling light does not work on location with the portable battery. I thought that maybe I inserted the bulb wrong but as soon as I connected it to wall power the modeling light worked. That sucks because one of the main reasons that I got this was to be able to do night shoots.

I love it, as soon as it got here I used it on my photo session, I live the ability to take it anywhere and use it with it battery. It's great, all I can say. The picture was taken using the flash.

Haven't had a chance to officially use it, but did connect and try it out to make sure if was functioning. Works great. Easy to set up without even looking at the instructions.
