Beginner friendly! Great product.
Best laptop I ever had fr. I’m not tech savvy at all for starters, but with some YouTube, I can get things done. I originally purchased this laptop back in 2023 only to play the sims which ran super smooth. I upgraded the ram with the help of YouTube to 32GB. Honestly don’t remember why I even did that in the first place but I did. Since then, I’ve deleted Sims and it’s 200GB worth of mods and cc. Now I’ve upgraded to playing American truck simulator and GTA RP. If you’ve watched any of those rp streams, you know A LOT happens and those servers are busy, but this baby can keep up and runs smoothly. Also before I forget, the laptop does get super hot when running big games like gta rp, but a cooling fan tray heels with that tremendously. I’m using this laptop for my gaming set up. I also stream on TikTok while playing these games and it function so well. Apologies that I can’t be techy, but I’m able to vouch for the games that I play on this bad boy. Eventually I see myself upgrading to a PC, but for now this will get it done. It’s going on 3 years and I’ve had no problems what so ever.

It's pretty good
I have been using this laptop for a week and honestly find it pretty good. I went through a lot of reviews before making my decision and wanted to add my own for anyone thinking of buying this. PROS: -The screen is really vibrant. I haven't noticed any screen bleed or dull colors and the refresh rate is great. -The laptop stays very cool* under heavy gaming. -It's really snappy and responsive. I haven't noticed any lag. -The touchpad is very responsive and easy to use. -The keys are slightly raised and feel a bit soft but in a good way. They're pleasant to type on and it wasn't hard to adjust to this smaller layout from a wider desktop keyboard. CONS: -The fan is loud when gaming. Like, really, really loud. It might be jarring if you're coming from a desktop. -Battery life is pretty bad and the performance decrease when not connected to a charger is not extreme, but noticeable. NOTES: -As the other reviews have said, you need to press the power cord in and hear it click twice. -If you downgraded to Windows 10, you'll want to redownload the relevant drivers from Acer's website. I had to redownload the touchpad and io drivers to get mine working again. -You'll also want to redownload Nitrosense if you downgrade. You can use it to toggle on coolboost which keeps the laptop extremely cool. You can also allegedly use it to lower the speed of the fans but I didn't notice a reduction in fan noise so I decided to keep it on coolboost. All in all? The cons are pretty minor compared to the pros. I got it for a little under 800 dollars and consider that to be a steal.

Great DAW laptop; can take lots of memory
I bought this laptop as “Used – Very Good” from Amazon Resale, and I am very happy with it. It did not come in its original packaging, but it was in perfect condition. I could not see a single mark or even a finger smudge on the case, screen, or keyboard. It came with the power supply and a kit to mount a 2.5” SATA drive. Plus, a keyring lanyard swag thing shown in the first photo. The price for this Used – Very Good computer was substantially less than a new computer. OK, how ‘bout the computer itself? Pro: 3 memory slots: two PCIe M.2 slots, plus a 2.5" bay Pretty fast i7-11800H CPU Comes with a kinda slow RTX 3050 Ti GPU, but a least it has one Two fans and lots of vents for good cooling Backlit keyboard Separate number pad Three USB-A 3.2 and one USB-C 3.2 Thunderbolt ports An RJ-45 Ethernet port No bloatware Neutral: Keyboard requires more key pressure than others I’ve used 512 GB installed SSD is not very big Installed SSD is not the fastest Con: 8 gig is not really enough RAM for most users No cardreader slot Trade-offs: Battery capacity vs 2.5” memory slot Things that are good but I don’t care about: 144 Hz display refresh rate Display color fidelity Graphics performance in general Alexa built-in I am a recording engineer, so I use this laptop as a DAW which I use to mix my audio recordings. I also do a little bit of video production too, but as little as possible. So what I am looking for in a laptop is lots of storage memory and a fast CPU. With a few additions, this laptop fits my requirements. As is shown in the photo, there are 3 memory slots. Memory 1 is what came with the laptop. It’s a middle of the road 512 GB WD PC SN530 which holds the OS. Not the fastest SSD around, and a candidate for improved performance by moving the OS to a faster and probably larger SSD. I installed Memory 1 & 2. Memory 2 is a 2TB SSD. Memory 3 is a 2TB HDD. Yes, the HDD is old school, but I own it already and it contains a lot of files that I’d have to clone to a new SSD. So installed memory is 4.5TB, which is enough to keep me recording for a couple of years. This computer came with one slot of 8 gig RAM, which is not enough for most applications. But RAM is inexpensive, so I added 8 gig more which is plenty for me. Battery life is not good, maybe 2 hours if you’re lucky. But the battery life is a trade-off for the 2.5” memory slot, because it takes up space that could be used for a bigger battery, as you can see in the photo. Almost all the time I run off of AC, so I’d rather have the 2.5” slot than a bigger battery. When used as a DAW, I don’t care much about the graphics capability of this laptop. When doing the occasional video production, it is nice to have the GPU. Yes, I’d buy one again. In fact, this is my second Nitro 5, my other is a Nitro 5 17-inch.

Love it but do miss the CD slot
I'm actually writing this review on my Nitro 5 and I love this laptop. Actually my 3rd ACER laptop; ACER has been so reliable that it's my go-to brand and this laptop does not disappoint. I can play Civ on it; I have about 30 Nancy Drew games loaded on it. It performs fantastic and the graphic quality is very satisfying. The only thing I would change is I would get a CD/DVD slot. Sure, there are enough ports on this that I could plug my external drive into it, so I guess it's just a convenience thing really. When I am using it for gaming, the fans are kind of loud but it really doesn't bother me. My next laptop is very likely to be an ACER. They're so reliable and easy to maintain. I have the same quality and performance on this ACER for under $1,000 as my daughter has on her $2500 Surface and I get the satisfaction of having paid mine off using the 12 equal payments with no interest plan. Can't beat it!

Work, school and BeamNG drive...
I've had this laptop for a few years now. First thing I did was upgrade the ram. After that using a riser to allow more airflow to the fans has really helped manage peak temps. I use this laptop for work, shool and playing games like beamng drive. It really has been impressive.

Don't buy Acer, i learned the hard way
Hope i save you some money and anger. Or find out the hard way like me. Bought 2 Acers since 2022 about around $2.5k in total. Both laptops fans quit working with the Nitro button that gives you fan control. Nothing i do or friends can get them working with the download from Acer i was shown to download. The 1st small 8g acer laptop still works but, fans quit, got them running then a day or 2 later same issue, so it's useless to play games that I play, it will just burn up eventually. Then this Acer 3070(64G) same issue, fans quit working less than a year of use, cause of the Nitro, can't even get a download on Acer to work like the 8g before, now the computer doesn't even work at all, i assume it got to hot.

Awesome gaming laptop for a great price
I needed to replace my previous laptop after 5+ years, but I didn't want to break the bank. After researching different gaming laptops, the Acer Nitro 5 stood out as the best balance between price and performance. I was nervous about upgrading to Windows 11 (I'd avoided upgrading from Windows 7 to 8 because of the terrible UI), but it's actually very clean and minimalist. The Nitro 5's performance has blown my expectations out of the water. My previous laptop could barely scrape by the FFXIV benchmark on "normal laptop" settings, but the Nitro 5 scored very high on the "high desktop" settings. I've signed up for PC Game Pass to take advantage of my new hardware power, and it's been amazing playing Microsoft Flight Simulator on high settings. I did end up buying an extra 8GB Crucial RAM, and installing that was a breeze. Fantastic value for the price!

Great for the price
Got this for my daily usage and casual gaming and I'm very pleased with it. I'm not sure how it holds up for mmorpg and intensive online gaming, but it's worked fine for me for single-player games. I played all of Baldurs Gate 3 on this laptop (single-player only), and while the laptop ran super hot, I had fun playing the game and experienced no lag. I did have to get a separate laptop fan, tho--without it, I wouldn't trust the laptop to hold up. It risked overheating and the screen flickered. This shouldn't be surprising given the laptop's specs, tho. You get what you pay for. And like I said, it ran fine with the laptop fan. It definitely needed to be plugged in tho; without that, the battery would die in about half an hour or so. Overall, great value! Perfect for a casual gamer who doesn't want to spend crazy $$ or build their own machine.
