The BEST baby book
I absolutely LOVE this book! I bought this and began reading it to my LO when he was 5months. He is now 23 months and talks SO much! I credit this book and others like it for early language development exposure. This book is most fun when used as intended- with lots of emotions and variance in rate, ruthym, and volume of speech. The pictures are true to the mouth shape for each sound. My lO still asks to read "the baby book" and loves making the sounds and faces for each picture.Would highly recommend for all babies to the point include it in my gifts for new babies!

For better and worse- my son started talking
My son was about 18 months old and not putting words together in sentenced yet. When he was born, he needed mouth surgery at 9 months and we always worried this would slow down his speechAt 18 months, he knew about 10 words he used regularly but had a habit of saying words one time and then never saying them again. He communicated a lot with his eyes and hands, and he understood a lot of basic requests and understood a lot of what we said. Worried his speech would fall behind we got the book- read it for a few weeks, and by 19-20 months he is saying more words than we can count.Maybe that was just his time, but I think the book helped. I think the way the book was set up gave him confidence in how he pronounces his letters and I would recommend it to any parent worried about their young ones having a speech delay. We bought a few more books by this brand. The book lines up baby’s facial expressions and emotions with what they are saying and compares words that rhyme and sound a like/ really highlighting whatever letter is different.example- “when I’m thinking my mouth says hmmmm. When I’m eating my mouth says mmmmm” great book. Repetitive- and highlights those little differences in words for baby.Only problem-there’s one part where is says “when I’m surprised my mouth say “ah!” Or something and “when I’m sad my mouth says “wah.”For the next two weeks- when my son was sad (did get a second cookie or second cup of juice, when it was time to come home from the park, time to go to bed. Time to go inside….. my son wouldn’t cry. He would sit there and say “Waaaah. Wah! Wah!” He sounded like an adult pretending to be a baby. It was super weird and even his nana was like “what’s up with him going “waaah waaah wah”I laughed and we skip that part of the book now. But him literally saying the word “wah wah waaaaah” were pretty sure came right from this book because that’s the only place we would have heard “crying” like that and he wasn’t crying/complaining/whining/protesting like that before we started reading this book. But this book is amazing for building confident in young speakers. Very well done book!

Really does help with speech and language! Makes a great gift!
This book, along with the "I Can Say Mama" and the "I Can Say Dada" book by the same author, has had tangible effects on my toddler! He was a little delayed in his speech, and these books truly made a difference. He started to say the words in them when we would read with him every day. As an elementary teacher, I know the absolute necessity of reading to your child and providing a language-rich environment, and these books help contribute to that. I also appreciate that the photos show decent diversity. These books make a great gift!

One of my better 3AM feed purchases
I am an SLP with a little 5mo of my own. I’m obsessed with good quality toys and books. This book is wonderful! At home, my little one has been so interested in meeting children similar in age —this book captures her attention! I also love how each page has a less is more approach, giving the adult inspiration to make each page their own. My husband had so much fun acting out each page and instead of reading word-for-word..he was able to interact with our daughter. At one point he stopped to ask me, “Do I sound like you during one of your teletherapy sessions?” —and he did! He naturally was able to focus on key words, use simple repetition, expectant pauses, etc.For work, I love how functional the phrases are and how key action and descriptive words are highlighted. This can easily be paired with visual supports and expanded upon for various lessons and goals!Thank you for creating such a wonderful product 💕

Baby likes the book
I feel like I have to read this 3x a day to get results, and honestly if that’s what I have to do, so be it. I read the book in a certain tone and my son knows when I’m about to say one of the highlighted words. He just won’t say it. We are supposed to be starting speech therapy soon. He does like the book enough to the point where he’ll bring it to me to read, or he puts my hand on it.

Solid resource
I'm a speech and ABA therapist and this is an excellent book to use for toddlers' speech development. Kids love the fun pictures and imitating the sounds. Crucially, it's written by a speech therapist and is evidence-based.

Essential for speech therapists
This book is a staple for me as an early intervention speech therapist! It’s great for my kiddos working on building verbal imitation skills and also those with motor planning deficits who benefit from visual models. The pictures are engaging and the large size keeps them my kids’ attention.
