Perfect Dash Kit for My Jeep – Easy to Install and Looks Great!
I recently used the Metra Electronics 99-6511 Dash Kit for my Jeep, and I am thoroughly impressed with the results. Here’s my detailed 5-star review: 1. Perfect Fit for My Jeep: The 99-6511 dash kit was an exact fit for my 2007 Jeep. Installation was super straightforward, and everything lined up perfectly without any issues. It’s nice knowing I’m using a product designed specifically for my make and model, which made the whole process much easier. 2. High-Quality Construction: The black finish looks sleek and professional. It’s made from durable materials, and the plastic feels strong and well-built, ensuring that it will last for years to come. It’s definitely a step up from the flimsy dash kits I’ve used in the past. 3. Seamless Integration with New Stereo System: I upgraded my Jeep’s stereo system, and this kit made the installation seamless. The mounting brackets and trim pieces fit perfectly, allowing me to install the new stereo without any hassle. Everything was included, so I didn’t have to worry about missing parts. 4. Easy to Install: I am not a professional installer, but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. It didn’t take long at all to get everything in place. The Metra kit made this process a lot easier compared to other dash kits I’ve used before. 5. Looks OEM: Once installed, it blends in perfectly with the rest of the dashboard. The quality of the finish is great, and it doesn’t look out of place. I love that it gives my Jeep a factory-installed look, even with the upgraded stereo system. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a high-quality, easy-to-install dash kit for your Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep, the Metra 99-6511 is an excellent choice. It provides a flawless fit, great build quality, and the perfect finish. I’m very happy with the results and highly recommend it! 🚗 Five stars for a solid, reliable, and seamless dash kit installation!

Perfect fit with Pioneer floating screen on JKU
The Metra double din to single din adapter was perfect. How ever ones installed it can be easily pulled out of the dash board. My fix JP well for plastic not on the head unit but on the adapter plastic parts. It's now solid in place.

Fits well in my dash
I bought this to mount a single dinn radio in my truck because the factory stereo had crapped on me for a third time. The only downside to this mount is that it makes the radio sit just a hair to far into the mount so that it make it difficult to remove the radios faceplate. The pocket that is part of the mount will hold two CD cases but isn't much good for anything else. The radio fits very securely in the mount and doesn't bounce or move around.

This is exactly what you need for a Wrangler and 1 DIN HU
The user manual leaves a little to be desired but even I got it figured out just by examining it. It's plenty sturdy for a 1 DIN radio and works exactly as advertised. If you assemble and add the radio, bend the tabs etc you may still have a little wiggle with the HU. If you do, just apply some thick tape, like the wide double sided tape from Harbor Freight and center on cage and radio on the top length and sides. Also once the metal cage is in place you might have a little struggle to get that front bezel on, and it may cause a bend at the bottom of it. This is hidden behind my Joying 10" screen so not an issue for me. The 4 screws in the corners make mounting a 1 DIN radio in a ~2009~ Wrangler a cinch, fits exactly like the old radio did. The manual suggests that you remove the factory metal plate inside the radio cavity, most in most cases this is not required and the metra kit certainly isn't deep enough to justify this - so try to route your cables and mount this unit before going to that labor. So here's the deal: 1) push the HU metal cage in to the front of the Metra kit all the way until properly seated, rolled metal bevel on cage meets plastic 2) use a screwdriver etc and push the tabs outwards from the center to hold the cage in place so it can't be pulled out again 3) there are two larger tabs on the sides meant to grab the HU and prevent removal, push these in if your radio has the vertical slots 4) push the HU in to the cage from the front - all the way back as far as it can go until the side tabs are seated 5) use thick tape to secure the radio and prevent rattling by running the top length and sides of the unit, place tape on cage and radio 6) place entire assembly on to dash and make all connections, test pwr, sound and over-all functionality 7) make sure all cables for USB, GPS antenna, microphones, canbus etc are routed and cinch with velcro strap 8) while holding the HU push the cables to the back and sides and put unit in to place against the dash, insert the 4 mounting screws 9) push top of dash facade back in to place and put the 4 remaining screws screws in to the dash front and top 10) connect vehicle GPS wire to module and replace the top plate, push down firmly If I see anything more noteworthy after drive time etc I'll mod the post. Hope this helps, wave to Wrangler owners! .
