Best reel on the market.
I am a avid bass fisherman on lake OKEECHOBEE and this reel performs flawlessly in the heavy cover this lake presents. Just flat out Love the reel. I have all Shimano tataulals and this reel flat out performs the ST by far. Casting distance is incredible, smooth and allows the angler to do one hand long casts without thumbing the spool and will run out the line on the spool. Drag has not failed me as well the reel has not bogged down upon retrieve on a heavy big o fish through the heavy grass. I have this reels on flipping, frogging and finesse rods set ups doesn’t matter what type of fish presentation you do, it just performs above expectations. Buy this reel for the cost , performance and feel you are not going to be disappointed.

Currently without peer. A great reel.
This was my 6th Concept 13 reel, and the first time I have tried the "Z". At first glance the "Z" is slightly more compact than the White, my other five reels. It is also distinction ligher at a diminutive 6.4 oz. Matched with one of Sarge Customs Warthog 7ft 6" MH, I wanted to see how this combination worked for Redfish, my primary target. I use P-Line Halo Fluorocarbon 10#, with 200# Fluorocarbon leaders. Not only did the "Z" cast as far and as easily as the White, it handled Redfish to 28" comfortably. In fact, I never felt a lack of control even with the biggest of the Redfish. I'm a believer. The plastic bushing instead of standard bearings works flawlessly. No wonder this reel was cited as "reel of the year" in several publications. My reel has a quick 8.1.1 retrieve, meaning you can catch up if the fish runs to you. Very impressive and super light.

Super smooth, light weight, slick af paint job
In use this reel in freshwater and saltwater both and it has been absolutely awesome. It’s super smooth both reeling and casting and the cast is practically silent. The paint job is legit and the color really looks great in person. It has a shine to it you just can’t see in photos online. Solid reel and I highly recommend it.

Great if on sale
I picked one up on sale for $100. At that price it is a great reel. It has a very solid drag and a smooth spool. I use it on a flipping stick with 65# braid. I have not had any issues horsing fish out of heavy vegetation. I have better reels at its MSRP but it is an all around solid reel.

PUT THESE ON EVERY ROD....YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED
I spend every second I can on the water...2 to 3 days per week at least and own more gear than anyone I know by a long stretch including every major brand of reel (mostly Shimano curados). I’ve heard sooo much hype over these reels I though it had to be a fad....then amazon had them for under $100 around Christmas so like any fisherman I bought 3 (Tackle junky) but bad weather set in and I haven’t been able to fish more than a few days with them. Do to a recent break in the weather I have taken them out at least to see what they can do ( water is still icy) and I can’t believe it but these are some of the first reels I have ever been this excited about. They are super light and easy to Palm, cast a freakin mile, and the drag is up there with much higher end reels. The first one I tested was paired with a st croix medium power extra fast tip (weightless Texas rig rod) started with the brakes on 5 and quickly backed them down to 1 (throwing into wind) and after maybe 300 casts not one birds nest and was casting 30-40 yards with minimal effort. I couldn’t get this thing to birds nest and the way I was throwing it, it should have. A couple over runs but I was running braid to flouro so probably just from the connection knot coming through the tip section or me not paying attention as it entered the water. So in conclusion BUY THIS REEL OR 5 (like I now have) you will not be disappointed! Also side note to anyone having problems with the drag or casting distance learn to set up your reels properly before giving a crappy review it’s not a problem with the reel it’s a problem with you not knowing how to maintain your equipment.

FOAM KNOBS ARE ACTUALLY COOL ON THIS
I found this reel on amazon for 90$... it’s a 200$ reel so I bought it instantly. It doesn’t cast as far as everyone said and I think the hype on this reel wasn’t worth it. It’s an amazing reel though!! casts smooth, is very smooth, and looks GREAT! one thing I wasn’t sure of was the foam knobs but I actually LOVE them now!

Set up properly
I bought this reel for my dad because he is having issues with backlash . Really ! No backlash you say ? What I did not understand was that this reel is set up at minimum casting drag from the factory . Do a search on set up before you throw it away . Set the breaks properly for your ability and it does perform well . I would give more of a personal review but I can’t wrestle it away from my dad . Good reel from what I can tell from a distance .

Lives up to the hype.
I have been a long time shimano and daiwa user. This reel had come out and there was a lot of hype both positive and negative. I had no plans to buy one but Amazon was offering it for half off. I though what the hell, I will give it a shot. This reel outperforms my shimano chronarchs and team daiwa x easily. The drag is awsome for such a light reel. I use this reel primarily for salmon fishing and it has held up well. 13 fishing hasn't been around a long time but I will be buying more of their stuff from now on.

Expensive, but so worth it.
Paired one of these with my Fate Black medium casting rod and 15 pound braid. I reeled the line on myself and had constant backlashes, thought I wasted my money. In desperation, went to the shop and they re-spool the line for me, turns out I had a bit too much line on and it didn't spool evenly. Changed the brake to 6 fand NOW?? THIS REEL IS LIGHTS OUT. With the Fate rod, I can cast a mile, even on the smaller lures. The Bulldog drag handles the bigger fish no problem (see photos). Really like the design of the beetle wing side plate, so it doesn't fall off if you need to change line or deal with a spool issue. The color? meh... but overall, top level performance. Would recommend!

Bueno y bonito.
Hermoso carrete, espero funcione igual a como se ve.Con el tiempo de uso, se hace un poco ruidoso que mejora con unas gotas de aceite.
