The rating is based on the super friendly price point. The well organized page layout is very user friendly - especially with the spiral binding. Not too small. Light lamination on the covers so it will be easy to wipe down any overlooked spill on the counter (unfortunately, I tend to get in a fair share of splatter on the page I have laying open. There's no guessing which ones I make most often). My only "gripe" is that I will have to put some serious forethought into how I enter the recipe in a category sense, since the pages don't rearrange, like a binder would. It does include convenient tabs to seperate them for quick reference and a handy index in the back. It's an excellent value for the price and takes up so much less room than my binders. I can just focus putting those I make the most often in this and declutter my counter space. One day my kids will want "moms recipes" and given the personal, hand written nature of this - I expected it to be an eventual heirloom.

This recipe book is really cute and basic. What I like about it is it has plenty of room to write out your recipe. Some books have very small spaces and this has ample room. I bought this one just to put all my dessert and cookie recipes in.
