Before the Big Bang: The Origin of Our Universe from the Multiverse

Special theory for not so special universe
It really made aware common folks about the new theory for the origin of our universe based on quantum mechanics background. The “classical- one universe theory” forces us to believe that we are living in a kind of special universe, which may not be the case according to this new theory proposed by author. It kind of completes the circle which started being earth as center of universe long back and eventually came that we are a part of multiverse. There may exist many universes which we may not see but can be proved by observations and rigorous mathematics. After reading this one must feel that multiverse is not a science fiction idea any more.

Well yes …
I notice that some reviewers dislike the personal input - I disagree as it breaks up a difficult (for me anyway) narrative into manageable sections. Having said that it is not for the faint hearted and she is not writing at the populist level. However, stick with it and you will enter a strange universe and hopefully emerge the better!

Inspiring
The author spends much of her time reflecting on how an exquisite universe can arise from a vanishingly unlikely origin story. Mirroring how she has managed to create a stellar academic career in a hyper-difficult subject area, in another language, from roots in one of the world's least intellectually nourishing cultures. Go Laura.

Fascinating
A really interesting account of the author’s work on the multi verse. She explains that the only theory that makes the Big Bang a likely explanation for the existence of our universe, is if there are multiple universes. She then explains her workings out, for which I give her full marks.

My Multiverse Muse
A good read, well written etc, could have done without the autobiographical details concerning Albania. If we really do life in a multiverse, I hope in some other version of myself I get to sit and have a coffee with the author…she’s well spoken, articulate, and so attractive….

A human story as well as physics in a charming book.
Excellent book. No mathematics just a few diagrams but enough to get the gist of this fascinating theory about the origins of our universe.
