Ceiling Support Assembly

I installed this on my shower the other day and it worked great. I had purchased a kit for my claw foot tub, and the included instructions were not very good. The kit came with this same type of piece, but I had cut it too short thinking it went elsewhere, it wasn't until after I had cut it too short that I looked at pictures of how the kit was supposed to be installed that I noticed I had done it wrong. I checked the manufacturer of my kit for a replacement, but none was available, so I took a chance on this one that wasn't made by the same manufacturer. It fit perfectly (these much be pretty standardized sizes and what not). Was easy to install, did have to cut down the length a little bit, but that was easy to do (used a dremel with a cut off wheel and then a sander to smooth the cut). Makes the shower look better and work better now. Good quality product and nice price too!

These work great to suspend our shower rod from high ceilings! I wanted to hang a second shower rod in the shower, so we could use it as a shower caddy (I hate the ones that hang from your faucet, because all your soaps, etc. are always soaked). Our ceilings are really high, and we didn't want to drill into the tile just for this. I searched for a while, and these are perfect. We used a tension rod, so it doesn't slide around, and these make sure it won't fall. You can see the supports along the back wall of the shower. We were able to hang them quickly, even though it meant using a ladder inside the shower.

Did exactly what it needed to do. Perfect length for standard ceiling and curtain heights, but could be cut easily. Easy to hang. Doesn't grip curtain rod firmly but that doesn't seem to be a problem, as it supports rod adequately. Bar is sturdy metal.

The package arrived double boxed but the support rod itself had an "S" shape bend in it. Since I had promised this for a tenant who's original support was rusted and pulled out of the ceiling I had to install it the day it arrived. They needed the support to hold up; their shower curtin. I spent several hours trying to get the bends out with a hammer and then with a vice. It's almost impossible to remove an S bend in a steel rod . I was only partially successful. What a pain in the ass. This is a high priced item (it's just a steel rod, base plate and rail loop) that arrived damaged.. Poor quality control.

Three stars because it exists, and there aren't many options out there. I was disappointed with the casting quality of the base where it attaches to the ceiling. It looks weak, and the screws are small and minimal. I should be able to hang from this thing. The ring itself slips easily over the curtain rod, but there is no way to secure it in position, so after installation the hanger slips back and forth on the curtain rod. Tacky. Also, the set screw that secures the hanger rod to the ring is made of cheap metal and is slotted for a standard screwdriver. It broke when I tried to tighten it. An allen screw, or better yet, a star screw, should be used instead.

Seller was fantastic. Easy to install once I found the location on the bar. Pay attention to where because you can't easily move them. Looks good after the installation and pleased with the result.

We used this to support an L shaped rod we just installed after removing a glass bathtub enclosure. It arrived quickly - with the L shaped rod - and was well packaged. Dinged one star as was the rod because both arrived without instructions. Its not hard to figure out but again, some instructions, should be included. Was a bit too long but it was easily cut and installation was relatively quick. Worked for us, provided the extra bit of support that our shower rod required. If you are buying an L-shaped shower rod I highly recommend this - it provides the extra support to eliminate any sag that your rod may have.

Holds up well. Hasn't rusted after a few months

Does the job, just don't over torque the set screw and you'll be fine.

I returned this product because I found a local hardware store carrying and 'L' shaped shower rod that I needed for my bathroom and also includes a hanger similar to this for $50. I have to say that this is a good quality product, but not for the price it demands. It'll be worth the price at around $20-$25. Just my two cents.

I bought this item along with the L shaped shower rod sold by the same company. The only way to fasten the support to your shower rod is with a threaded screw insert that tightens to the vertical support at the top of the ring. The threads in the hole, in my experience quickly wore out, after re-tightening a coupe of times after the product failed. So basically, with no threads for the screw insert to fasten and tighten to my shower rod, the whole product, shower and support are useless. Complete waste of close to $100. Save your money, and go a different route. Very frustrating
