Product quality is much better than I expected. The tray looks like a form of plastic but feels like and sounds more like (on the kitchen granite) a ceramic product. The inserts hold two quart mason jars with lids at the right angle for draining. I ended up ordering two more sets so that I can have a continuous crop of sprouts. I have branched out to include field peas, black eyed peas, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Great product.

I'm very happy with this purchase. I bought a different tray set up for my sprouts prior to this, and it was a terrible design; the jars kept falling over onto the counter and the shading bags were too small for the mason jars. I should have sent it back, but I was trying to make it work.This design far exceeds the other kit. It does not come with the slip on shades, so I just purchased a set separately. The screens have not rusted, (at least not yet). The green screw-on lids fit my wide-mouth mason jars nicely and snugly (jars are not included in this kit). I'm so pleased with the sprouts kit, that I plan to buy a second set for my sprouting craze! I would not hesitate to give this a try. FYI, if you are new to sprouting you don't have to have the jar covers - just put a dish towel over the set between rinses.Happy sprouting!

The tray that holds the jars at an angle holds the water as it drains so it’s not running all over the counter! I would recommend this item.

Salad mix seeds were delicious, Mung seeds failed to sprout twice, we followed instructions but they failed. I can’t give it a rating of bad because we had good results with the Salad mix. We like the kit.
