Beautiful shoe just a bit too small in the toe box.

My normal shoe size is 7 1/2W, so I ordered these original footprint shoes in size 8 and they fit very nicely. The treads are nice and grippy for our ND winters. The only negative is they are not very cushy for the ball of my foot/toes. The sole tapers dramatically there.

I have worn out two pair Olympus shoes and I need a shoe suitable for cold wet weather, so I was excited to see Altra made it Gortex lined. However, the shoe is far from being one of my favorites. The Gortex, high platform sole (to maneuver through puddles of rain water) and the color gray are just about the only thing I really like about this shoe. Cons are; 1. They are very stiff and feel more like wearing heavy duty boots and they are bulky looking. 2. The laces are round... I know that is minor, but they don't stay tied as well as flat laces do. 3. The heel cup is shallow and give the feeling they will slip off. I removed the insole and trimmed about 1/4 inch off the toe so it would slide further into the front of the shoe and that gave a bit more depth to the heel cup. The shoe is not perfect for me by any stretch of the imagination, but the cons will not keep me from wearing these because I highly value warm, dry feet in the winter.

I read all your reviews (Thank y'all!!) and decided to give these a try. These hiking shoes are exactly what I was looking for. I usually wear proper LOWA boots for my hikes. But traveling overseas soon, I wanted a lighter shoe with similar tread and comfort, and waterproof. I ordered the same size as I wear in the Altra Solstice xt2 and they fit perfectly in length and width. My left heel feels like it might slip out in the back, but I was able to fix the issue by changing the way I tie the lace.I wore these shoes in the recent rain/snow showers and they kept my feet dry.I hope the soles hold up during my upcoming hike in the Alps.

The reviews are important. These shoes run small. they are super heavy, the laces do not stay tied and are too short. The heel slips and they are super stacked. All of this I read in the review but thought I'd try them anyway. I went with Topos and they are awesome.

Love the altra brand i usually wear a size 8 in the Torin but I had to go up to 8.5 in these. They are comfy and have a lot of grip and are completely waterproof. The color is a nice dark gray/black and the accent color is purple.

I have a lot of joint pain, flantar fasciitis, back problems. I've been through dozens of athletic shoes and insoles. These are hands down the best and most comfortable right out of the box. No sores, no numbness. No regrets here

These shoes are comfortable over all. The stacked heel is a little much, made the shoe look more boxy. The tongue on the shoe is ridiculously large and tall. Since I wear no shoe socks, I will probably be returning the shoes due to the oversized tongue. I think these shoes will work better for taller socks, where the tongue won’t rub. Although, the tongue is pretty soft, compared the the rough one on the All Weather Lone Peak shoes.

Sono cliente Altra da tre anni e devo dire, che non mi deludono mai. Queste in particolare oltre ad essere bellissime sono davvero tecniche oltre le aspettative.

Super bequem, toller Grip wenn es matschig oder rutschig ist. Die sehr dicken Schnürsenkel sind nicht ganz so meins, aber ich arrangiere mich damit. Die Schuhe sind sehr warm, nix für den Sommer, aber dafür sind sie auch nicht gekauft. Alles in allem rundum zufrieden.Nur über die Haltbarkeit kann ich noch keine Aussage treffen, dazu habe ich sie erst 4 x getragen.

Bis jetzt sehr zufrieden. Weich und breit. Ich kann lange gehen ohne Schmerzen wegen Hallux. Habe 41 statt 40 gefauft. Klobig sehen sie aus.
