As good a honesteel as I've ever used
Keep your blades sharp, and this will be about all you'll ever need to keep the edge right. A few swipes with each use, and my knives are all ready, all the time. This replaced an old honesteel that lost effectiveness for me years ago. Just keep it clean.

Works fine, don't press hard.
I've only had mine about 48 hours but it seems to work pretty well on a knife that is already reasonably sharp. Too soon to tell. From previous experience with ceramic steels, don't press hard, take your time and pay attention to the angles. Probably nothing lasts forever but it's an excellent price.
