I recently purchased this pressure-fitted stair gate, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. Installation was incredibly easy, taking just minutes with the only tool needed being the included spanner. The pressure-fit mechanism holds the gate securely in place, making it a perfect choice for renters or anyone who wants a fuss-free setup. One of my favorite features is how smoothly it operates. The gate can be opened and closed with just one hand, which is a game-changer when juggling a toddler or carrying items up and down the stairs. The build quality is impressive - sturdy enough to withstand my active toddler’s attempts to climb or shake it. Even when he leans his full weight on it, the gate stays firmly in place, giving me peace of mind about his safety. It has green/red colour indicator near the latch to indicate that the gate has been fitted correctly and is secured in place. If you install the gate wrong, it will stay red until you rectify your mistake. The gate also has a little latch at the bottom so if you only want to open the gate in one direction, you can do so. Very handy feature. It’s high enough for my toddler who is 2 years old but, by the time he can climb over the gate… he shouldn’t really need it anymore anyway. Once that time arrives, the gate will be super easy to remove without damaging the wall and I will re-use it for my 2nd child. Price - I think it’s very fairly priced. Cheaper gates are available however, I like the build quality so I was happy to pay the tiniest bit more for this gate. Overall, this stair gate is an excellent choice for busy parents looking for convenience and reliability. Highly recommended!

This is a good, secure stairgate although it does have some drawbacks. I will detail these: 1. Over secure. This says that it is for babies 6 - 24 months. A child much older than this would not be able to operate the lock. They will learn to climb over it long before they have the strength and dexterity to open it. It is a one-handed operation, but you need to push forward one element with your thumb whilst you lift a second with your fingers and both of these need a reasonable amount of pressure. 2. I don't know the technical name of the element that presses up against the door frame on one side and has a screw which slides into the gate on the other, so I'll call it a bracket (see photo). The bracket slides into and does not screw into the gate. This means that initial fixing can be tricky which the brackets falling out whenever they are angled. Once in, it's not a problem. It's only really a concern if you intend to move the gate often. 3. There is a tightener on the screw of the bracket. If you move this too close to the cushioned end of the bracket, it's incredibly difficult to loosen again. This caused me a problem as I did not have the tools to deal with this.

This stair gate does exactly what I needed it to do. Installation was straightforward and didn’t take long, with clear instructions and all the necessary fittings included. Once fitted, it feels secure and is easy to open and close with one hand, which is particularly useful when carrying a child or other items. The gate is made from metal, which does make it a little heavier than some alternatives, but I actually see that as a positive. It feels sturdy, durable and more robust than many plastic gates I’ve used in the past. While it may not have all the premium features of more expensive models, it performs its main job very well and provides a reliable barrier for both children and pets. Considering this is one of the more affordable stair gates available, I think it offers excellent value for money. Overall, a solid, practical stair gate that is easy to install, simple to use and well worth the price.

This gate is absolute garbage and cheaply made! It was up in place for a few days and when I went to pick something up off the floor infront of it, it randomly collapsed and fell on my head and shoulder! I can still feel the pain days later. This could have easily fell on my 11 month old! Please avoid getting this gate at all costs and protect your children! This was to fit on a standard door way and yet the screws in the top and bottom are way too short and the holder of the screws on the top and bottom at the sides of the gate are smooth inside with no grooves to add stability so I fail to see how this was mean to permanently stay in place! Safety 1st more like danger first! I’ve had to completely take it away from the door and put it to the side out of fear for my children’s safety. If I could leave a minus review I would because as I said my children could of easily been hurt instead of me. Check the video out to see the looseness off the application where the screw is supposed to insert.

Easy enough to fit. Need adjusting from time to time. All worked fine for a few months however the slide mechanism was always stiff. Last night the latch that pulls back to allow the gate to close or open stopped retracting so I loosened the gate so we could allow it to slip on and off. In trying to video the fault as requested by the supplier the release slide-switch snapped. So whilst it did the job it's build quality is a little weak. The item is not specifically listed on the Safety 1st site and so I only hope they will be sensible about what to do next. I really should give it an extra star but as we've had it for a relatively short time I expected better.

Had to be a small gate for the door and this fitted perfect easy to fit nice and strong so well pleased with it.

Se instala fácil a pesar de que las instrucciones deberían ser mas claras, especialmente cuando se instala una extensión adicional. Tampoco queda claro donde va la almohadilla, si en el exterior o interior para ayudar con el montaje de la placa plástica contra la pared. En fin, a pesar de todo son muy útiles y resistentes para los niños. No la he probado con animales pero intuyo que igual de buenas.

Fait très bien son travail, mon enfant de deux ans n'a encore jamais réussi à l'ouvrir m. La fixation dans perçage fonctionne très bien. La poignée mérite d'être graissée car et racle un peu, mais sinon je recommande.
