Brilliant gadget
I love my Optima data projector but neither it nor the 10" laptop which I use for powerpoint presentations has an inbuilt sensor or facility to allow remote slide changing. This gadget is so effective therefore and simple to use. There is a small piece which pulls out of the hand held section to slot into the USB port on the laptop, then you switch on the hand set and point it at the laptop, pressing the forward or back arrow keys to move your slides along or back. As a professional speaker, I deliver a lot of talks, mostly in large village halls and this allows me to stand wherever the screen is and not have to keep bobbing back and forth to the laptop to change the slides. Most of these halls have fluorescent lighting but I have not found this interferes with the signal, as the manufacturer warns it might. The signal range is great and it fits snugly in your hand. I love the little zip pouch that comes with it.

Plug and play.
This little pointer worked perfectly for PowerPoint on a Windows PC from which I was providing a training workshop. The in-build laser point is nice and bright, and the product is nicely sized to fit in the hand while ergonomically shaped for easy access to the buttons while being gripped. A few seconds delay after plugging in the USB dongle part and the remote control spring to life without having to install any additional software or drivers.Battery life has been great, and I haven't had to change the batteries even after a full business week of usage. A valuable addition to my laptop bag.

Good except for TV's
This works very well with Powerpoint as long as the presentation is not showing on a TV screen as the pointer will not show up. For whiteboards & projector screens it's an excellent product.

It's worth the price
I've had quite a few whiteboard clickers, as a teacher. I've generally bought the cheaper ones, but you really get what you pay for - they fell apart, without fail, before too long. Some other brands also require you to install software before you can use some of the features which was incredibly annoying and simply not possible on some work-managed laptops. This has none of the issues. You plug in the USB stick and it just works. The USB stick isn't small, but it's not the end of the world as I just leave it plugged into an extension. There's easy storage of the USB stick in the device itself if you need to travel. It's soft to the touch and just feels really premium, to be honest. There's a laser (not the most powerful laser ever but it works!), a button to start the slideshow (works with PowerPoint but I can't comment on other software), a button to black out the screen (again perfect with PowerPoint and I use this LOTS in lessons to then free-write), and forward/backwards buttons (which work generically, including with Google Slides). You get what you pay for. This is worth the price.

Excellent quality presenter remote. Recommended.
This is a really good presenter for PowerPoint on Mac or PC. Solidly built with a handy carry pouch, the USB receiver sits snugly inside the main unit when not in use. Has worked first time on every laptop I've tried it with, and have had no problem with it dropping connections or not working.A bit more expensive than other remotes, but haven't had a Logitech remote let me down yet and I wouldn't want the risk of it not working in the middle of a presentation or teaching session. Pay more for quality like this.If you do a lot of presenting or teaching you might want to consider the one higher up the range - the R800 (Logitech R800 Professional Presenter Wireless) as that has an inbuilt timer and vibrates in your hand when time is nearly up, but if you don't need the timer feature then this R400 will do the job nicely.

Makes managing your presentation so much simpler.
For £25 you're getting something that will make using Powerpoint so much simpler; and my wife has been eyeing it up to use at school as well so I may need to buy another. All the buttons come naturally to hand and the Slide Fwd / Backward and "Black screen" buttons let you control the presentation without having to carry a wireless mouse in your hand or return to your laptop. It fits very neatly in my hand.I haven't used the "Start Presentation" feature yet as I am always in presentation mode at the start. The laser pointer is also useful and surprisingly bright even at 5 m, and it conveniently runs on a couple of AAA batteriesThe device uses a fairly large USB dongle so you'll need a free USB port to plug in to when you're using it. It's just a shame it has a manual on / off switch. I prefer the auto on / off on some Logitech devices when you insert / remove the dongle. It also comes with a soft pouch to store it as well. All in all I'm very impressed.
