Great product

I was skeptical and I was right. The item is made out of plastic and has gaskets. The pictures and description depict this glorious item that actually may break your hose collar overtime because the threads bind and they bind quite immediately and you may not know if the threads may be misaligned and if you continue threading they will strip or the threads are improperly made and they bind and you need to force it. Most pools need constant service and maintenance, therefore threading and unthreading the hoses may lead to hose collar failure, or it may lead to stripping the threads or mis threading the collar onto the T and never making it to compressing the gasket to create a proper seal. So it does not actually fit the intex 1.5 inch hoses on the pool pump. I wonder if the hose collar may break if you get stubborn and force it in. The gaskets are quite hard but that may or may not be a good thing. Or imagine you force it in it works but the hose collar breaks when you're not there to solve the issue.

In trying to use this product with Intex/Bestway threaded hoses, it kept trying to cross-thread. After carefully getting it on the threads correctly, after a couple of turns, it started to seize up. Seems like it's slightly tapered and the threads were not done properly. Will not work properly at all, unless force is used, but then you will probably strip the threads or cross thread. DO NOT BUY.

Was using to upgrade intex pool to all 1.5 hoses. This T-joint seemed perfect. The threads are to wide. The hose will not screw down onto the joint as it is to tight. Tried with older hose and new one just purchased to be on the safe side, worked with neither.

This product does work but, where the threads start the machining process is way off. So when you start to thread the hoses onto it you must be sitting down, in the shade with a cup of coffee or whatever calms you down! To thread all three hoses on took me approximately 50 attempts. That said understand that to manufacture my own using PVC 40 mm to 1-1/2 inch threaded couplings and 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe would have cost me approximately $60. In short it will work if you are patient, if not manufacturing your own may be the better option. Also understand that for "Easy to Install" I would have give MINUS 5 stars if it had been an option!

These are very sturdy and if they were made with the correct dimensions they would be a great item. Unfortunately they are very hard to start threading and I broke my hose nut tightening it.
