I got this for my wife and watched her immediately put it to use while using her new espresso machine. I don't drink coffee, much less espresso, so I didn't really understand what she was doing. But it makes sense that you need to make sure there isn't any lumps in the espresso, which is what she did. The product itself is sturdy and seems to be well made, although I don't see why something so small and simple should cost that much.

This product really helps in tampering down your espresso grounds and distributing them evenly for steaming water to pour over them. I like the minimalist, modern design and that it is a two in one tool, the distributor nests into the tamper. It is made of quality materials and takes up very little counter space, a nice companion to my espresso machine. Would definitely recommend for your home espresso set up!

This little gadget really helps in tampering down your espresso grounds and distributing them evenly. It has a modern design and a nice feel in your hand and takes up very little counter space. I also really like that it is two tools in one. The distributor nests into the tamper and comes with extra wires for replacement. The only addition I would like to see is that the two halves lock together in lieu of just sitting on top.

I got this today, gave it a wash, and immediately put it to use!It is heavy and well made. It’s a simple tool and does what it’s designed to do. The fact that it looks good doesn’t hurt either!The only suggestion I would have would be to allow the two halves to lock together for transport. With that said, I would recommend this product if you need a tamper or just want to try it!

I had read where these help better distribute the grounds for more consistent shots. While it's appearance and construction are solid, I didn't notice any discernible improvements to my process or my shots.For me, a dosing funnel keeps things cleaner and more consistent. Without a funnel, this may distribute the grounds but I also found that they spilled over the filter. I went back to just the funnel and factory tamper as this didn't add any value and was just an extra step.Others may have a different or better experience but this just isn't for me.

Well-made (heavy, all-metal) solution to a messy problem: redistributing dispensed grounds into a small vessel. Espresso grounds are quite fine and tend to lump up - this handy little unit helps to break that all up and lightly aerate the dosage. Creates better distribution of grounds and a more even pack after tamping. The uniformity/density of the puck directly correlates to the high quality of the resulting espresso. Perfect tool to add to my coffee bar.
