Loved the videos that go with the book!
This was a great study and I would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to take a deeper dive into the gospels. My favorite part was listening to Rebecca in the videos - she is fascinating and so insightful.

This study was deep and took a lot of time. But I really enjoyed the teaching. I plan to read it over again now that I’ve finished

The audience is questionable
This appears to be a study that is trying to reach unbelievers who think the Bible is not for intellectuals and is mostly read and followed by the uneducated, a study meant to “prove” to the academic elite that the Bible can speak to them also. By concentrating on a multitude of literary techniques, McLaughlin seems to want to show her fellow intellectuals that the Bible is sophisticated enough in its writing that it deserves their attention. I would refer anyone who is concerned about reaching those who think they are too wise for the Bible to 1 Corinthians 1:18-31. If you already think you are too wise for Scripture, I hardly think a study highlighting biblical poetry, metaphors, aphorisms, personification, and synonymous parallelisms is going to change your mind.
