Does the job.
Nice compact product. Fits comfortably into any pocket.I like that it retreats into its casing for protection when not in use.Light is useful addition. Pull out the glass two 3rds for no light, extend fully to engage the light.Simples.

Good, but read this first!
The actual lens is good, easy to use. Actually easier to use for reading a map than a x5 illuminated one I have, and almost as good as a very expensive, big and heavy x3.5 one I have. So far, 5 star.My only complaint is partly down to my bad eyesight and stupidity. It is the fiddlly battery compartment. Read on....Ok, I opened the package. It worked straight away. I though I'd open the battery compartment. Seemed stiff. I stuck a knife in the crack to get it started, something I've done with other similar slide out covers. Big mistake. The whole thing fell to pieces! The batteries were not where they should be! (somewhere near the lens!) Oh dear, I've broken it! Looked at the bit of paper that comes with it and it says urgent, watch this video. So I thought I better had. Good job I did. The video is overly long (like this review you're no doubt thinking) but you need to watch it.1. There is a tiny SCREW you need to remove before opening the battery compartment. You need a tiny screwdriver (Phillips 0). Fortunately I had one for glasses frames. A tiny Phillips type on a keyring.2. You put the batteries in different ways up, one bigger diameter side, one smaller diameter side). If it doesn't work, swap them both over.3. Don't lose the screw.Fortunately I managed to get it all back together and it seems to have survived unscathed.Comes with a cloth, but where are you supposed to keep it? I guess, find a small plastic bag.

Works well
A good clear magnifying glass with convenient integral plastic case. No bigger than it needs to be and a useful light. Great for examining stuff on the factory floor without having to touch the lens or getting oil on it when in my pocket. The only bad point is the nano scale Philips screw for the battery compartment.

Retractable illuminated magnifyer
Had one of these for some time now, out of age "necessity". Functions adequately but for a relatively lightweight plastic casing it is horrendously expensive. As with anything catering for people's "needs not wants" the £ mark-up is scandalous.

A superb item
I've only had this for 2 days but enough time to appreciate that this magnifier really is a lovely piece of kit. It carries no country identifier, the only clue is a Las Vegas address on the box. It is extremely well made with all corners rounded so no snagging on pockets, The lens gives a very clear image and the LED illuminates the subject very well when the lens is pulled out fully. This is a good feature as you do not waste the battery unnecessarily. It did take 5 days from date of order to receipt of the item but as Amazon had quoted 6 days this was a plus and in true form there were plenty of daily updates from its origin in Germany, arrival in Rochester, arrival in Reddich and then arrival and departure in Northampton. The video that one is advised to watch details battery change and lens cleaning. At the end of the video I took advantage ot the offer of free replacement batteries and 20% discount of another purchase which is arriving in 4 days time.Congratulations to the manufacturer, the seller and Amazon for a well made item and good delivery.

Indispensable Aid
I have eyesight problems and need a pocket magnifying glass to read text etc. close up. After trying various other magnifyers, I have found this to be the best. It has a protective cover (carrying a lens in the pocket alongside keys, change etc. soon results in deterioration. The Easy Magnifyer avoids that.) The cover slips up and down again very easily, which is handy -- some other covered magnifyers are a bit more fiddly in this respect, which can be annoying. The cover also appears sturdy -- other magnifyer covers have been flimsier and have fallen apart in my pocket after a few months. I wait to see how long this one will last but I am optimistic. The magnification level is right for reading labels, price tags, instructions on medicine bottles, etc., which is what I need it for. The Easy Magnifyer is about the right size to keep in my pocket -- big enough to locate and get a firm grip on, but not too bulky. The lens size (45 x 38 mm) is adequate for the uses I put it to. A strong light comes on when the protective cover is pulled away from the lens -- this helps because natural light levels are sometimes insufficient for me to see clearly, even with magnification. If the light is not needed, pulling the cover three quarters prevents activation. Overall, an indispensable aid although I would rather have perfect eyesight.
