As someone with chronically non functioning bowels (thanks to giving birth...cheers kids) I have been on many prescribed laxatives and medications over the years. Decided to give these a go as I struggle to get enough fibre in my diet that doesn't leave me bloated and even more constipated. OK they aren't the best tasting thing I've eaten, but if you can cope with a prune-ish vibe they are ok (and definitely easier than eating bags of prunes/rhubarb whatever) and as long as you down a big glass of water the taste doesn't last. The first few days they worked a bit TOO well... there was a 'OMG do I need a nappy?' vibe, but that has settled and while they do make my stomach gurgle, they do the job really well, to the point that I have been able to ditch the prescribed laxative! Just don't take them if you are on a very long haul flight and about to land... take it from me, when they work you need to GO!

One chew mid evening gives expected results first thing in the morning. Toyed with half a chew but not so effective and got a bit despondent and forgot about them for a while but gave them another go with a full chew. Within 15 mins of waking up it takes effect. No cramping but sometimes a bit of rumbling. Helping food to go through your system at a more normal speed to help you feel less bloated and uncomfortable can only be a good thing. No chemicals involved, all natural and any increase in fibre in your diet is a plus. Laxatives are toxic and not something to take regularly without totally messing up your digestive process so these offer a wonderful natural alternative

I've been struggling with constipation for a while. I undergo regular colonoscopies, so I know my bowel health is good. I've tried Senokot, but I react badly to it. Ortis cubes were my second attempt at a natural remedy before heading off to the GP. I've taken one so far, and in light of other comments, I was bracing myself for a negative taste. I was pleasantly surprised. They taste similar to the fig biscuits you can buy - something that takes me back to my childhood. I guess it may be a Marmite thing. Concerning effectiveness, they worked gently, and I managed to pass the following day. Even better, I'm now regularly passing daily from just ONE CUBE taken around a week ago! I had a few cramps after taking the cube, but nothing I couldn't manage. I may look at taking a half cube weekly to keep myself regular. But you don't need much of this stuff - it's amazing.

Quite pleasant tasting if you like dried figs but not particularly effective. Some people may have to take two or three a day to get results, though other people who have ordered this product have told me it's very effective even taking one dose. I will continue ordering because it is a useful product even if it doesn't work by itself; one can still add it to a regime of other products.

I read the label and it suggested that I take one chew in the evening. Assuming this would result in a bowel movement in the morning, I thought about the fact I needed to get up quite early for work and decided to take one late afternoon/early evening about 4:30…I really don’t like going for a poop at work. The chew was relatively inoffensive and tasted of figs…it was a bit sticky and got wedged in my teeth but that was the worst bit. I woke in the morning expect to go about my business, but didn’t feel like I needed to…I cursed the tablets for not working and went to work. Approximately 24 hours to the minute of taking the chew, I was sat at my desk, completely forgetting about having taken the chew…to be honest it took me a couple of minutes to remember what I had done the previous day and once the realisation hit me that my body was now reacting to it whilst I was still at work filled me with impending doom. I scuttled to the toilet, clenching my cheeks, praying for it to be empty. Thankfully it was…as soon as o sat down I was violently popcorn farting in between stomach and bottom gurgling…I went into full panic at the thought of someone entering so tried to add a little pressure to get the situation resolved a bit quicker…it was over within about 30 seconds and I was able to return to my desk, hastily gather up my stuff and leave to get back to the comfort of my own home and toilet…something told me this wasn’t a one time thing… Since coming home I have visited the toilet about 4 times in the space of 2 hours…and I am sitting here writing this review still feeling like I’m going to shart and deciding whether or not to gamble… To sum it up, if you want a clear out, these definitely work…just be aware that your body may take longer than expected to react. Edit…these definitely work, I have never pooped so much in the space of 24 hours…no pain or anything, just does what you effectively are asking taking a product like this…I’m holding off taking another one for now
