Only product to calm my scalp
This shampoo is the ONLY product to give my scalp relief from flakes and itchiness. I’ve tried products with zinc pyrithione, salicylic acid, ketoconazole, and selenium sulfide. I’ve tried medicated creams, oils, sprays, shampoos and conditioners. Nothing has given me relief until now.It does not smell good at all. But the trade off is well worth it.

BE AWARE OF FORMULA CHANGE
I’m extremely disappointed (actually I’m REALLY effing pissed) that they changed the formula after so many years. My husband has found that this is the only product that eliminates his psoriasis on his scalp. He also has rosacea and this was the only product for the purpose of helping psoriasis that did NOT irritate his rosacea. In fact, if he used this shampoo on his face and in his beard, it would even help his rosacea. This company has now changed the formula to include eucalyptus and mint essential oils. Eucalyptus is a huge irritant to rosacea. The texture is completely different, it’s chunky now, the color is completely different, obviously the smell is completely different (like a sweet minty puke). So now anyone with rosacea and allergies to essential oils is completely screwed with no warning. My husband used this new formula and his face is breaking out in his rash and his scalp itches like crazy.Thank you for “fixing” something that wasn’t broken.Did they consult the doctors they claim recommend this? Or did they just want it to smell prettier?UPDATE:Now, my husband has be using this for 2 weeks while we try to find a replacement. And his psoriasis is BACK! I’ve added photos of his face where it can be seen. We have not shaved his head to prove my point, but I’ll let you know if he changed his mind on that. He is in absolute itchy agony on his head and chin.COME ON?! WTF?!PS. ZERO communication with the company as of yet. So they clearly don’t care.

Oh my lanta I was not prepared
I’m not a stranger to tar based shampoos. I’ve been using them for the better part of 20 years. TGel was always my go to and honestly I’m about to drop the $60-$70 after this experience. I knew it would smell. Between the reviews and past experiences I knew it would. I was not prepared for the gagging event that just took place in my shower as I attempted to wash my hair with this liquid motor oil tire rubber paint smelling concoction that came out of this bottle.Did it work? I couldn’t begin to tell you because that one experience was enough for me to never use it again. I would rather suffer with the itchy psoriasis on my scalp than ever use this again.I fear that it is going to take me a lifetime to get this smell off of my hands just from trying to contain the liquid long enough to get it in my hair. It literally runs out of the bottle like water. I can’t even begin to imagine the length of time for my hair to smell even remotely decent again.Edit to addThe towel I used to dry my hair I had to wash multiple times to get the smell out.The vomit worthy smell of my hair stuck around for days…DAYS after just once use.My pillow case… yup just threw that away.

Stripped my hair color
This product works very well with my minimal psoriasis issue along my temples. The only problem I have is it tends to strip my hair color if used too much.

Disgusting… but effective!
Just used this product for the first time today. The smell is absolutely horrid and definitely not great for people affected by strong smells or asthma — I am both of these and struggled to get through my shower and needed to use my inhaler afterwards.HOWEVER. THIS NASTY STUFF WORKS! I powered through my shower and was actually so impressed when I dried off and checked my scalp. The Psoriasis flakes and redness were totally subdued and any flakes that remained were just sloughing off in my hair — the most troublesome spots were completely clear and the major redness I had was a dull red, almost pink. I’m so relieved. After reading about usage online it does say it’s better used specifically targeting the scalp and trying to minimize how much gets in your actual hair which is definitely easier said than done if you have longer hair. I used Native conditioner afterwards which smells great and unfortunately that didn’t help the smell at all. So while I’m definitely walking around with an invisible gas cloud, it’s a step in the right direction. If you’ve read this far… don’t give up, you will find a product that works for you, even if it smells like gasoline.

Okay, but stinky
I ordered it when Denorex mentar became impossible to find.First though is, it's very stinky (in a chemical, industrial way). I can smell it on my hair the next day. Denorex managed to get the smell under control, why not this product too?I also am not sure if it works as well as Denorex. All in all, i'll probably not reorder.

Works well
I like the fact that this has more cold tar than some of the psoriasis shampoos. It seems to help better than others I have tried so far.

Strong Scent
I’m not sure if this product works as i just started using it. However, I’m wiring a review because of the very strong scent. It smells very close to gasoline. I’m not sure if it’s more like unleaded or regular. Also, the consistency is very much like petrol and not thick like normal shampoos. Not sure I will be using the rest of my tube, after 2 washes.
