Good clean signal
Have used this preamp with a couple of different turntables now and it doesn't disappoint. No detectable noise floor, no issues with ground hum. I'm hoping it continues to serve for a long time but the fact that there's no power switch to turn it off when it's not in use is a little irksome. I worry about burn in over time.

Dislike
I don’t like this product it didn’t work, and I wasn’t very pleased with it. I wouldn’t buy it again.

This preamp got my turntable setup working
I bought the Edifier speakers, that I thought had an amplifier in them. The sound was really weak out of them with my turntable. My son recommended a preamp. I bought this one. It came the same day and is exactly what I needed to get the speakers working perfectly, now I can enjoy my old records again :)

seems to work well
Documentation is minimal and does not specify whether this uses RIAA equalization curves, but I assume it must. I compared this side by side with another outboard phono preamp in a similar price bracket (a Rolls VP29). I thought the Rolls had slightly more pronounced low frequency response, but otherwise the two amps were quite similar in volume, noise, and imaging.

Impressive for the Price
I've received a few items from the brand, and so far they've all been fairly solid.I currently have this paired with an old Technics SL-7 linear tracking turntable using a Grado Prestige Red P-Mount cartridge. It absolutely does the trick for my needs.I'm not asking a ton out of it with this setup as it's for my secondary system in my home office, and I'm using some Audioengine HD3 powered desktop speakers. It's just so I have music that sounds good while I'm working. That being said, I did test it out with my living system using a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with an Ortofon Blue and a Marantz 2235. For that system, my regular phono stage is a Pro-Ject Tube Box S.Did it sound better than the Tube Box? No, it didn't. Does it sound better than the Marantz phono preamp? No, it does not. However, when compared to a NAD PP-1 that retailed for twice as much 20 years ago that I was using with the Technics, it sounds spectacular. The FX-Audio Phono Box01 is great for anyone trying to find an extremely reasonably priced phono preamp for any reason. Is it going to blow you away if you compare it to something 10 times its price, or against a vintage receiver from an era when having a solid built-in phono stage mattered? Maybe, maybe not. But it works and the sound is clear. For the price, I'm not sure you'll find a better solution.
