Waterwood Hand Painted Seahorse Doorbell - Wired & Illuminated Push Button Cast in Durable Polyresin

The Seahorse itself is as advertised and sturdy. It mounted easily over my old flush doorbell location. Unlike other decorative doorbells that simply tape on, I like that there are screws to hold the unit in place. Popping out the new button to wire was also easy. However, getting the button to seat securely again in the seahorse body after wiring is not easy. It is a weak press fitting that holds the button in the Seahorse hole.The problem is that with my 20AWG solid doorbell wire pair and the side screw mounting of the new button that even a little pressure from the wires pushed into the Seahorse causes the door bell to not seat securely and easily pop out. After several wire trims, a little back excavation in my door trim panel I gave up on perfection and super glued the button face to the Seahorse.A better method to secure the bell button in the Seahorse is needed.

Was wanting a Mermaid one but couldn't find it, so we chose this one as it was close to our beach theme. Very nice, I actually lightly misted it with outdoor paint to give it more of a color with our blues and brass/gold coloring to match our decor on the porch. It looks amazing. It's a nice size so you can see it as you are walking up the porch, and it does light up which is nice for when it's dark outside. The only thing I noticed is the doorbell button sometimes runs very warm to touch, especially the gold-/brass piece around it, and the reason for the 4 stars versus 5 stars. It's very nicely made, and looks really pretty. If you like beach themes, you will be happy with the esthetics, and quality of this doorbell.

This doorbell was not shipped very securely (there was a two-inch hole in the top of the envelope). However, it was built so solidly that it arrived undamaged anyway. We chose this seahorse because of the super good reviews and how well we thought it would look with all our other beach decor inside and outside our house in Jamaica Beach, Texas. It was easy to install, and looks even better than expected! It’s thick, solid, and nice. We’ve already received compliments about the little guy. Good purchase.

This is a great idea and a great product. I looked at all this company's doorbells. I chose the colored sea horse. When it arrived I flipped my breaker and installed it in all of 4 minutes. I do wish I had selected the brass version of the sea horse because even though I love it and it looks and works wonderfully I KNOW it will break because it appears the colored sea horse is ceramic or something clay like. I was careful when installing it but can see a potential crack if you screwed the screws too tight. But all that said I love LOVE LOVE LOVE it and when it does break I will order a brass sea horse.Again I hope I am just paranoid because I love love love it !!UPDATE: Almost one year later the light still lights and the thing still looks brand new. I was paranoid about it breaking or fading but it has not. My jealous neighbor was telling me when I was installing "Those burn out fast" Well as I said its been a year and still shining bright SO Bah hum bug MIckey!!!

We LOVE this bell... ok - we had a Ring doorbell but we couldn't get the stupid thing powered up. And since we couldn't find the old doorbell, we bought this one. Couldn't be happier. We needed to clean up the mess from our old bell, old holes, etc. - but as for putting this in you can't get much easier. And we have a coastal theme to our home so this was such a nice touch!

What a nice little upgrade! The seahorse was well made and a heavy little piece. It's just a door bell button however it made a huge difference. Not to bad to install but I did have to drill a new hole and provide my own anchor for the brick as the new holes did not line up with the old.

It looks like an aged brass doorbell ringer, but it is really just cast resin/plastic painted really nicely.The button does light up which is nice, but the quality of the ringer button is also plastic and just friction fit into the body of the doorbell casting.It will probably outlast me, but if you are looking for an heirloom quality doorbell ringer, this might not be the one.

This doorbell is awesome, i was concerned that it was made out of a plastic material, but once i got it that issue was washed away! It is made of a very thick heavy composite of some kind, and it weighs about what it would if it were metal. It also looks very real, and you cant tell that it is not actually metal.The only issue i have had is that the image clearly shows a pewter or brushed nickel colored ring around the doorbell button, and the one i got was like a shiny brass (golden) color, which actually does make it look a bit cheasy. Additionally the image shows sort of dull grey screws, and the ones i got were a shinny silver color, so they stand out a lot more, and also clash with the combo of copper, brass, and silver all within a 2 inch little deal.The reason this did not affect my review is because the seahorse itself is what looks awesome, and is what i bought it for, and i can easily replace those other 2 issues.
