Love it!
Super great product. Used it to color sourdough and it didn't change the taste at all. A little goes a long way! It did come out more of a pink color than purple in the dough. Would be great for dyeing eggs!

Awesome Ube powder
Love this Ube powder. Tastes amazing and loaded with antioxidants. I’ve used it as food coloring and boosting Ube flavored baked goods and confections I’ve created. Delicious and beautiful color

Excellent for baking!
Very vibrant color. Couldn’t find ingredient list on the packaging which is odd, so I assume there is no additives as in it is only pure purple potato (ube). I used it to make Swirl Rye Sourdough Shokupan (milk bread). The flour itself is somewhat loose, it takes sometimes to get it mixed into the dough as post addition. But boy, it does hold up the color during baking! You can also taste the ube but not overpowering, it really depends on how much you add. I used 25g in this 800g loaf. Like other reviewers mentioned, it is somewhat pricey but the quality is superior, so I don’t mind it. Highly recommended!

Purple YamCake
I used this to make purple yam cake that turned out great. My only disappointment was that the cake wasn’t as bright a purple as shown in pictured. But flavor was good, it was easy to use and was a good quality product.

Worth purchase
The flavor and color are expected. I used to it color the glutinous rice dessert and it was well-received

Ube (yam) and Purple Sweet Potato ARE NOT THE SAME THING
Ube and purple sweet potatoes may look similar due to their vibrant purple color, but they are distinct. Here’s what sets them apart:Origin and Plant Family:Ube (also known as purple yam) is native to Southeast Asia and has been part of Polynesian cuisine for thousands of years.Purple sweet potatoes trace their origins to Central America and belong to the morning glory family of plants1.Texture and Taste:Ube has a rough, bark-like skin and is largely considered inedible. Its flesh is violet and has a nutty flavor.Purple sweet potatoes have a thin, smooth skin that’s easier to eat. Their flesh becomes deeper purple after cooking, and they have a sweet, nutty taste23.Nutritional Content:Ube is high in vitamin C, antioxidants, and resistant starch.Purple sweet potatoes are a good source of beta carotene, but the purple variants contain less than orange sweet potatoes. They also have anthocyanin, the antioxidant responsible for their purple color4.Disappointed to find out that the PACKAGE states 100% UBE, but in actuality it is Sweet Potato Powder.

Highly recommend
I bought it to make iced lattes similar to some I'd tried in a coffee shop. I learned right away that if you're going to do this, you have to use a blender even if you're just having your drink over ice and not blended. The powder clumps up no matter how much you stir it. You can get most of the clumps out, but you'll still end up with tiny bits. Trust me. Use the blender. But other than that, I completely recommend. I use my favorite milk and coffee concentrate, plus a sweetener, add in the ube and blend. Pour over ice and enjoy!
