Every youngster loves playing with a torch. Well, its been sixty years and more since I had my first torch and I can still remember how excited I was reading books in bed and lighting up my bedroom. Compared to the torch I had way back then, this little beauty is a search light. As soon as it comes to hand the weight tells you that this is much more than a torch .All Aluminum Alloy body complete with a lanyard carry loop. One large re chargeable battery is also supplied and a set up that allows you to use 3 rechargeable AA batteries ( not supplied) that slip inside a purpose made cradle that is then supported by a slip over sleeve. They have thought of everything. Depending on the amount of type C fast charge you chose to store in this torch it really does light the way ahead. The percentage of stored power is displayed digitally making it easy at a glance to maintain the torches power and readiness. Push button control make it easy to select any of the 4 different lighting options. Sliding the torch head forward engages the zoom out, spotlight. Drawing the torch head back engages the zoom in Floodlight. . Its so well made that the makers show it being used to break into a cars windscreen. Just to add again that this is the best torch I have ever owned . A torch that can at the press of a button light up the whole room and when engaging zoom out can send a concentrated beam of light that reaches hundreds of meters out into the darkness of the woods behind our house. I almost forgot, it is also water proof. I want everyone to know just how good this torch is. I whole heartedly recommend this torch. It is so powerful it is recommended that children under 6 should not be allowed to use this product without parental supervision. Six years old, that was bout the age when I received my first torch and I'm just as excited as I was way back then. Well done all involved.

My husband loves torches. He has loads. He's a fan. A few years ago, we moved to a tiny village that has no street lighting so good flashlights became even more essential.For Christmas, I wanted to buy him a really super torch, one that beat all his other torches. That wasn't an easy task believe me.I found this one after lots and lots of research.I can say, this is the most INCREDIBLE torch I have ever seen (which doesn't say much really) but my husband, ex-military, torch-loving aficionado was KNOCKED-OUT by its strength. It is truly remarkable. I think it must be some kind of mistake (!!) How could something this powerful be made for general use? I think it can be seen from Mars!Seriously though, it is utterly amazing. By FAR, the brightest torch I have ever seen. Tiny and lightweight - it's like having a miniature searchlight in your hand. It's actually too bright sometimes when we accidentally shine it in the direction of oncoming traffic at night!! It has loads of settings too.It seems it's out of stock at the moment - I really hope that's not because they realised just how incredible it is so stopped selling it!!If it comes back in stock, and you want a bright torch - seriously, do not hesitate.

Prior to this purchase I've owned a couple of "similar" led torches which when focused produced a pretty bright but fairly small square of light. This one is at least twice the brightness and around 4 times the size of square when fully zoomed in. See photo. Much easier to find the dog in the garden, then turn down the brightness once I've found him. Can charge using usb too, which is a plus. Only minor downside is I have to cycle through all 5 modes to turn it off which I didn't have to on my old torches, but that might only niggle me because of the way I use it. Not enough to downgrade the 5 stars though. Excellent torch!

Bought two of these last autumn ready for winter dog walks. When they work they are fine. But both have developed faults with recharging - claiming they are fully charges when they are not. And when they are charged, they do not hold the charge for long. We have had a number of different rechargeable torches over the years, but thought that it would be worth paying the extra for these to have something that lasts. In fact, they have lasted barely three months. Save you money and buy something cheaper.

Great torch. Huge zoom and brightness. Also solid build, would be useful as a defensive weapon. Incidentally, to switch straight off, without going through the range of lighting functions, just press and hold the switch for about 5 seconds.
