The apparent suicide of the maid Irena makes Inspector Kroger travel to a small village, which also includes the Graps Castle, in which Irena was employed. Together with the doctor Paul Eswai, Kroger finds that Irena is already the 12th Death victim, which is said to have committed suicide recently. The villagers, however, believe that the spirit of a young girl is responsible for the murders. And in fact, there are always ghostly appearances, which lead to further deaths. More and more traces point to the castle of the Baronessa Graps. When Dr. Eswai also finds the body of Kroger, he suspects that all the people who have ever visited the castle must die. A big mistake. Because the countless rooms of the castle hide a secret that is much more terrible than Eswai can ever imagine. His work is absolute cult: at the peak of his creative power, Mario Bava (The hour when Dracula comes) in 1966 with this shaking story about a scary murder series once again proved that he is still celebrated today by fans and experts as a master of the Italian Giallo. With his usual idiosyncratic interpretation of classic motifs of gothic horror, Bava conjures up an atmospherically dense nightmare in THE DEAD EYES OF DR. DRACULA, which underpinned his status as a virtuoso genre expert, especially with the help of pinpoint effects.
