Thoughtfully made and packaged
I received this incubator last week after much debate over buying it or live chicks. My flock is savage, so no raising babies for them, many failed attempts later. My fertilized eggs have been in the incubator for 3 days. An important detail is that the dome fits very securely, no wiggle once in place. I say this because I started with 10 eggs but added 2 within 24 hours of starting the incubation period. The humidity dropped and did not increase as it did at the initial start up, after a few hours was up past 70%. So I checked the dome and it had some movement, then seated into place correctly. So far, it is working great, temp holding at 100 degrees, humidity now up, and rotates eggs every 2 hours. The unit is easy to use and instructions are understandable. The only thing that would improve this unit is to provide a bit more room for each egg. I have several jumbo eggs, so they are a little crowded. Very nice incubator.

It works fine and most of the critical reviews here can be easily fixed with some simple changes.
The media could not be loaded. I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews - those folks are doing it wrong. In our modern "push a button and forget" society, we think that everything should be 100% automated. If you want that, buy the $500 incubator. This one is pretty simple but is easy to control the temperature and humidity with great accuracy. Is your temperature all over the place as some reviewers are writing? SEND IT BACK and get another one. Amazon has a 30 day return window - send it back! Upwards of 10% of ALL products out of China have poor quality control. Your;s is broken? Don't cry, send it back and get one from the 90% that work. Better yet, order a new one today and when it arrives, then send back the broken one.Get a thermometer and check the internal temperature (I used the laser thermometer). Is your incubator temperature off? Then adjust the temp up or down until the verified thermometer reads the correct temperature. For the humidity control - you simply have to upside down water beakers that introduce water to the incubator. More water = more humidity. There is also a little vent at the top; closed = less humidity, open = less humidity. Use the vent and water level to control your humidity. I read some reviews that said no matter what, their incubator was too dry - perhaps they live in an arid environment (Arizona comes to mind) - put a bit of painters tape around the base where the glass connects to the base to help hold in some of the humidity. Other reviewers said too much humidity - one reviewer said they put the lid on crooked and it landed right on the correct humidity. Correct answer! If yours is too humid, put a toothpick between the base and the glass to let some humidity out. Still too humid? Add another toothpick to the other side - work it until you get the humidity you need.We fiddled with the water and found our humidity point. We need to add just a little water every day but that's the price for the budget appliance. Our temperature read close to the laser so we're good there. All of the other features work well, the egg rotator is nice and slow, tumbles the eggs gently. For the price, we're quite pleased. We add eggs as we find them, I'm buying a 2nd to use when the eggs get to their final days so that I can have eggs of multiple dates in the primary machine and those in their final days are moved to the 2nd machine.

Fantastic Especially for Non-Dry Hatching, Easy to Use
This is a great incubator at an excellent price! Very easy to use, and has everything you need for hatching. Clear instructions, and excellent customer service. I am new to hatching, and my first eggs were very dark brown (Black Copper Marans), for which I was advised to use a dry hatching method for the first 18 days, meaning no added water. This resulted in the humidity alarm going off every 2 hours since humidity had to be below 40%. We kept the incubator in a secluded room, so the alarm was not a problem. Plus, I will need to increase humidity to over 50% during the last 3 days, so will use both water bottles to adjust accordingly. I also plan to use this incubator for all of my other (non-Marans) hatches, so the alarm will actually help to alert if humidity gets too low. Customer service was immediately responsive to my Qs. I especially like the way the egg turner rotates in a circle to fully turn the eggs unlike other incubators in this price range that only rock the eggs back and forth. 14/18 eggs candled viable so far at day 8; 5 stars if most hatch!

Easy enough for a first timer! Easy to use and directions are easy to follow.
This incubator worked really well for our first time using it. It was easy to set up, easy to adjust the settings, and the directions were easily understandable. We had six hatch successfully. Our four year old was happy to check on the eggs every day to watch their progress. She was EGG-CITED about them turning and just about lost herself in EGG-citement when they started hatching! If you have kids, they're going to love watching this process as it is a huge learning tool and lots of fun to watch the progress. We never had any issues with the heat level or humidity unless our house got cold, and once we realized it needed adjusting, it didn't take long to get it back where it needed to be. I loved being able to see through the whole top, but be very careful once you remove the turner because the eggs will move around once they start hatching and if you're not careful, you could smash one with the protruding mechanism that heats the incubator. We kept it on a desk in our kitchen and it wasn't ugly so I didn't mind having it out to where everyone who came by, could see it.The only issue we had with the incubator, was getting the room dark enough to candle the eggs. The candling light wasn't very bright if there was any light at all on in the house. We had to make the house pitch black in order to see, and when we did it was absolutely amazing to see the little chicks moving around inside! All in all, we are happy with our purchase and look forward to using it again!
