Beautiful gift for the car buff
The media could not be loaded. This is a gorgeously printed book that covers so much detail on the beloved car that so many adore. The photography is stunning even if you are not into cars.A great gift for man cave!Be aware shipping can be finicky. The book is shipped in a box and if the carrier throws the box it could result in the cover getting a bit damaged.I think the book should actually be shrink wrapped due to the weight if it, then placed in box. That being said its a book that woild make a nice and thoughtful gift. Kids can enjoy looking at the pictures too.

A fantastic historical record
Corvette Stingray is a fantastic historical record of one of my favorite automobiles. Perfect for car lovers or as a coffee table book, Corvette Stingray has wonderful content and beautiful pictures. I actually came for the pictures but stayed for the history, engineering, and vehicle specs. You see, once upon a time in my previous life, I worked for Paragon Corvette Reproductions, a manufacturer and distributor of 1953-82 Corvette parts, located in Swartz Creek/Rankin, Michigan. I began as a parts picker/shipper, moved into receiving, and became an assistant warehouse manager for a bit, before finally landing as a purchasing agent. I purchased parts manufactured by other Corvette parts suppliers/manufacturers. I did get to manufacture a couple of the parts I used to source directly from GM after they changed the specs and the new parts were no longer original in appearance. Vintage Corvette owners are very specific in the parts they replace, and the parts have to look like the originals.I made a lot of connections in the GM and Corvette industries throughout my 10 years at Paragon. I met Joe Spielman several times when he'd come to Paragon to visit. You can read about him on the National Corvette Museum website. I made wonderful friends with owners and employees of other manufacturers and distributors of Corvette parts including Keen Parts, Allen's Stainless, Zip Products, Trim Parts, Eckler's, Vette Products of MI, CSC Reproduction Corvette Parts, and various GM dealerships across Michigan. Some of these companies are no longer around, have been sold to a conglomerate, or bought by the competition (Paragon was absorbed by Corvette Central recently after both companies were purchased by Legendary Companies). I left the industry at the end of 2006 but my acquired love for the Corvette has not diminished.Acquired, you ask? I was 19 when I started working at Paragon and didn't really like the Corvette (gasp!). What I actually discovered I didn't like, wasn't the Corvette in its entirety, but the C3 and C4 Corvettes. When I was introduced to the owner's C1 (53-62) and C2 (63-67) Corvettes, I was hooked, and in love. I eventually learned to love the C3s and actually owned a blue 1980 for several years. Don't even get me started on the C4s. They are my least favorite gen and you won't ever change my mind. Lol.Anyway, back to Corvette Stingray: The Mid-Engine Evolution. Richard Prince compiled an excellent amount of history in this book. The sheer volume of historical data and photos kept me engaged and interested in learning about how the mid-engine Corvette finally came to fruition. I'm sad that Zora Arkus-Duntov wasn't here to see his vision become a reality. He worked hard to get the Corvette where it is today, and I appreciate his dedication and tenacity. GM will forever be my preferred car manufacturer, and the Corvette my absolutely favorite sports car.I was provided a copy of this book.

Stunning photos and history of the Stingray from authorized source
I agree with another reviewer, that this book should be shrink-wrapped before placed in the shipping box to avoid scuffing or marring the paper jacket. Aside from this issue, the book itself is stunning! One of my aunts collects Corvettes, and she will appreciate this book very much. The history covers the early beginnings of the Stingray all the way through its 70th edition collector's car. This is an authorized book published by Chevrolet itself, which allows for a look back at some amazing photos from within the company itself. I am very pleased with the book and only wish they had chosen to better protect the paper jacket during shipping.

the ultimate sales brochure for the Chevrolet C8 Corvette, in coffee table book form
This review is for a book titled "Corvette Stingray: The Mid-Engine Evolution" sold as Amazon ASIN 0760388288, written by General Motors and Richard Prince, ISBN 978-0-7603-8828-0, and published by Quarto Publishing Group USA.This is a glossy, high-production value coffee-table book measuring 28cm tall by 25cm wide that is absolutely loaded with photos and artwork commemorating the development of mid-ending Corvettes over the years, culminating in the production C8 models.Nearly every one of the 224 pages has color pictures. The paper is high-quality and heavyweight. The book is hardcover, with full color gatefolds front and rear, and includes a full color protective dustjacket. The models cover up through the C8 Z06 and the anticipated C8 E-Ray, but do not mention the anticipated C8 ZR1.A number of individuals are pictured in various stages and eras of design; the mid-engine Corvette had been an off-again, on-again project for a very long time, from the days of Zora Arkus-Duntov onwards.I especially liked the coverage of the "Blackjack" development mule vehicle, which was based on a Holden SS-V Ute (much like an El Camino version of the Chevrolet SS Sedan imported from Australia from 2014-2017.) Fourteen pages full of pictures and descriptions will satisfy any Holden fan anxious to see their contribution to the mid-engine Corvette. This is a beautiful book for any car fan, and particularly fans of Corvettes and their history, and a must-own for anybody fortunate enough to own a Corvette C8.

Great book for the coffee table in our showroom. We already have a couple other automotive coffee table books there but like most other cars, those will look pretty boring sitting next to this latest Corvette edition. But if you're just looking for Covette picture books, this may not be the one for you. the book is full of more plain-Jane pictures of GM engineers (often with cars) and others involved in the Corvette through the years. The real value in this book is the history it lays out of how GM toyed with mid-engine Corvette prototypes through the years.

An amazing read on an amazing car
My book came a bit damaged on the paper cover due to no packaging material in the box. The books itself is still great. The pictures and quality of each print is fantastic. I learned quite a bit and I think this book is a great addition to any corvette shop and garage. Each page has something nice to see and offer.
