Manfrotto Hi-Lite Background 5 x 7 Inches High Key Photographic Background

Size is perfect for many kinds of shoots. The ability to place strobes inside of it really adds another dimension to the lighting. Other side is black so can just turn it around, no need to fiddle with fabric backgrounds anymore. Folding it up is a bit tricky, but after doing it a few times it becomes second nature. Folds super flat into the provided carry bag.

this background is a very good well made product.it was easy to setup and even easier to fold down in comparison with the other flat backgrounds i have.the results of putting my elinchrom lights inside this unit were fabulous, and took up next to no space.i recommend this Hi Lite for anyone who wants good portraits in a confined area.

OK; Its an expensive background compared to the offerings on E-Bay etc. However this particular version (5' x 7') is very easy and fast to set up. Indoors it requires no other support and can be used with a goodly repertoire of coloured background accessories with or without trains. With practice, you can pack this up just like a foldable reflector into a robustly made container that easily fits most car boots. For single handed portrait shoots its absolutely perfect. I've been experimenting lighting the background by popping a speedlite inside. Setting the speedlite to full power and then adjusting another speedlite in an opposing soft box, I've taken some stunning high key shots that customers are delighted with. I suspect it would make an awesome softbox with a couple of speedlites inside! I'm less certain about how stable this background would be outdoors and at a minimum I think it would require a couple of weights dropped inside and on a windy day would probably need some guy ropes too. Interestingly there are a number of loops and guide holes located all over the sides of this background that would lend themselves to such an idea! This kit appears very robust and in my opinion, will last a lot longer than the cheap oriental stuff found on E-Bay. Shop around before buying as there are a surprisingly vast range of prices out there.
