Such a nice, handy little tool. I got it for my desk drawer to open packages or cut paper, figuring it would be good with light use. It isn’t going to replace heavy duty scissors or long cutting blades but not every task needs that kind of tool. The cutting “blade” is pretty small, similar to one of those safety cardboard cutters. It is just a portion of the scissors sticking out but it’s pretty clever in design. It works well cutting open some taped boxes and feels sturdy while doing so. The scissors are also small but nice and sharp for typical printer paper or plastic tags. Each lock into place and it feels safe to use. I definitely wouldn’t buy this if you are wanting something more heavy duty. You aren’t going to be cutting through plastic clamshell packaging or thick cardboard with this. It’s a nice desk drawer item or something to keep near your paperwork/envelopes. Doesn’t take up much space for the two tools it is and just a really cool design.

Therefore, please bypass the previous (ignorantly) posted review about these pocket folding shears not being heavy duty - they were NOT meant to be “heavy duty”, and there are NO claims of “heavy duty” capabilities anywhere within the product description. This pocket-sized, folding shears work exactly as intended throughout the realm of crafting, journaling, and various stationery-related activities. It is compact, operable with one had for quick deployment or speedy storage. The unit fits in your pocket, has an integrated loop that is convenient for mounting onto a keychain, lanyard, or maybe a soft material tether. The housing isn’t comprised of any kind of expensive, dense plastic material, but it is sturdy nonetheless. The blades are lubricated for long-term use with a very sharp, spring-loaded blade, and the stationary blade is sharp enough to cut through packing tape on packages, and soft enough to not cut you should it be accidentally be left partially deployed. Overall, an excellent quality compact scissor that is ideal for every stationery nerd! If you love to journal that involves any crafting with paper or fabric, do any kind of gift-wrapping, or have any hobbies associated with heavy stationery products, and enjoy cool gadgets, this an excellent product. Scissors are short so a continuous cut is not as straight as possible. The blade can loose sharpness quickly. But works well overall.

So I saw this on instagram and that it won an award from Japanese stationary awards, but then the reviews on amazon were kinda low. Here’s the thing, for a mom who travels a lot and crafts a lot this is the freaking best! I use the cutter for cutting open packages and food containers/bags for the kids. The scissors are perfect for cutting yarn and thread and paper for homeschooling. I bought a second one to put in our travel toiletry bag. There’s almost always a piece of something that I forgot to cut off the kid’s clothes so having both with a way to SAFELY secure it, best thing ever! Wonderful value for the money since it’s two in one. The scissors are slightly wobbly but after you get used to it, it is so easy to use and so smooth. Very durable and easily portable.

The blade sharpness isn't great for cutting straight through boxes but is good to take apart the tape that holds boxes together. The scissors feature is convenient but not necessarily practical. I find myself reaching for normal scissors most of the time. It's compact size and the ability to "switch" between closed, blade and scissors leaves something to be desired. The locking mechanism is also poor when pressed against something with a lot of pressure. I really wanted to like this multi-tool, but the sharpness and locking mechanism could be massively improved.

Its very balanced and can be used very well with one hand.great size fits well in my hand. Not heavy and very easy to use. Has a nice snap back and can slide easily between functions. Easy to figure out and suitable for all adults. Carabiner not included but it youd like you could attach one. Lastly, cuts good quality cardboard and also it cuts plastic as well as cloth very good. Pocket sized and one of the best in Japan

This portable scissor/box cutter knife is simply dumb in the best way possible. All the quality is in the blade and the design. I was really disappointed by the quality of the plastic handle/body. It's very thin and light. I was expecting a solid thick plastic body akin to a Fisker scissor handle. After holding it for the first time, I was annoyed with the blade geometry, it (or more likely, ME) only likes to cut in 1 direction/orientation. Because of the blade geometry, you're literally just cutting with 1 half of a scissor blade. The blade likes to wander off the seam if you're going the wrong direction. It's a little difficult to open the sides of boxes also. REGARDLESS, I love this thing. I use it way more than my always handy pocket knife (probably because I don't bother to sharpen anything often enough) and honestly love how it can just sit in my key bowl because it's so small and out of the way. I fully understand why this thing won all the awards it did in Japan. It solved such a stupid small problem in an excellent way and in true Japanese design fashion, I don't think it went any further than it needed to go. Thick quality handles be damned, this thing is so awesome.

I wanted to love this tool, but the blade does not stay locked when using it to open packages and the scissor extends out. I thought i was hitting the button but after using it with caution, the blade keeps fully extending. Last time I used this tool the blade extended and the scissor popped open and cut my finger. It's Garbage, so thats where it went

It is a cute gimmick, and I'm glad that I got the sand beige at half the normal price after I saw it at full price in Msia. It's not a high performance tool, so don't expect to slice through thick materials easily. Even papers with stickers may have issues, because the glue will stick. buy it for the cool product design and that's it

2in1ツールを探していて、刃も含めてオールブラックのデザインが気に入りました♪ 持った感じも手に馴染んで使い勝手も良さそうですね。まぁ、ハサミはちょっとした物を切るぐらいなら問題ない切れ味でした。

Just as described - works incredibly well breaking down boxes and the scissors were durable.

刃が小さいので大きな紙などを綺麗に切る用途には向いていませんが、それ用に作られているだけあって宅配のダンボール開けや洋服のタグ切りにはとても使いやすいです。 玄関には大きなダンボールを開けたりゴミ出しで解体するためのカイコーンを、部屋には小さなダンボール開梱や洋服のタグ切り用としてこちらの商品を取りやすい位置に壁掛けして使い分けています。 サッと取って片手ですぐに使える、とても考えられた商品だと思います。
