I love this chess set. The pieces are beautifully made. It's full size and magnetic. It even comes with checkers! There's a little booklet telling you how to play and a bag to hold the board and everything. I mainly played chess. The pieces fit into the board. I do notice what the other person said about the chess pieces being protruding when you are playing checkers with the chess pieces in their space behind the chess board.The magnet holds nicely to the board. I love this full sized board. It makes playing even in a moving vehicle doable.

The media could not be loaded. This set is beautiful, all of the pieces stick to the board even when the board is completely sideways. The set comes with two queens per color, and there was only two tiny imperfections in terms of appearance I found on the whole set. There is two noticable problems, one is a design flaw and one was due to poor quality control, which is the reason for only 4 stars.The design flaw is that the chess pieces protrude out more then the edges of the board. This means that in order to play checkers, and have the board level on the table, you must remove the chess pieces. There is a bag that comes with this set for this exact purpose, however since this set is wood, putting all the pieces in the bag will cause damage to the chess pieces eventually.The quality control issue is, the alignment of the magnets on the lighter checker pieces are not all facing the same direction. 6 pieces have the opposite orientation compared to the other 6. All of the magnets on the darker checker pieces are aligned the same way. This doesn't impact play, as all of the pieces stick to the board regardless, but when a piece becomes a king, which requires you to stack a piece on top of another piece, you'd either have to have one upside down (and see the little pad on top) or swap it out with another piece after trial and error to find one with the same orientation.All in all, I'm pretty happy with this set, but there is some room for improvement, mainly the magnet orientation this could be a great set.

Very nicely made chess board and pieces. What helps is the magnetized board and the base of all the pieces. Taking the board on trips and in the car is not a problem now.The quality of the wood, the hardware and finish is all quite good. It's not real high end, but still very good for the price. There are two extra queen pieces included.
