Hands down one of the best board games I have ever played. Power grid is the openttd of board games. You go in with a bunch of friends and by the end everyone has separately pulled out a sheet of paper to try and calculate "if I buy coal for 8 and burn it for 12, I can't afford to run the oil cause I will only make 6 and while impaired 4 for it it is now worth 7". If you know an accountant who likes board games, play this with them.

My favourite "euro" game improved
This has been my favourite slightly "heavier Euro" game for a couple of decades (typically there is a fair bit of working out/calculating to do in last couple of rounds - you need someone to do the mental maths for you if you can't!).This welcome "face-lift" gives the basic game some gentle tweaks to make the game less "formulaic", especially in first couple of rounds.Great work by designer, improving an already excellent game.
