Great vent filter
This is well worth the money. I have two vent stacks that come from the ground and I would smell my septic tank year round, but more so during winter months. I went through the winter with these filters and had zero smell. Wish I would have bought these years ago. Very easy installation. Highly recommend.

This works fantastically!
This is the third one I have bought. Just received it today, so have not yet installed it. At my previous home we were surrounded by hills and the sewer smell sank into our back yard. I lived there from 1986 to 2015, we bought a sweet air and the smell disappeared completely. We never replaced the charcoal, but did buy the upgraded one about 2004. At my present home the garage was added onto the house, but the vent stack wasn’t extended through the garage roof. On windy days it’s quite stinky! I Installed the last two on a two story home, so even as a 71 year old lady I’m sure I can do this one! I can’t wait for the next windy day!

Fixed all my smell problems !
Like the simplicity - this thing does its job Shipped in amazon box with no materials/packing etc . Carbon already installed Top is unnecessarily hard to remove - i get you want it secure - but i shouldn't need 2 screwdrivers to get it off ! My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to have the bottom taper just a little to make it easier to insert - it was a struggle to get into my (not quite round) copper pipe and the fit is snnuuuuuuuug. No smells at all since i installed it - life is sweet !

So grateful!
My wife and I just built a house here in rural Iowa. As soon as our septic tank and leach field were put in we began to smell stink outside. We have a vent stack (candy cane) on each end of the leach field and a smaller stack in the roof of the house. The smell could come from any of these and seemed to depend on wind direction and velocity. We ordered the Vent Stack Filter about two weeks ago and put it on the vent closest to the septic tank (the top of the leach field). The result is amazing. No more stink! OK, maybe a little off the roof stack sometimes, but it is so much better. There are instructions in the box and you do have to take the cap off and pour the carbon out of the plastic shipping pouch before installing the Vent Stack Filter.

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW if you endure winter
All things were great with this cover. HOWEVER, I was either too dumb or didn't do enough research, but if you live in a cold winter climate with snow, etc. (Vermont here), this needs to be REMOVED for the winter. Moisture will condense and block the airflow, contributing to inhouse odors and poorly functioning drains and toilets. This is a new house and the septic smell was noticed during the summer. No problem, right? Just put a cover over the vent pipe outlet. Not so fast, the pipe exits at the top of a 30' roof. Ahhh, now it might be easier to see how putting it in and out twice a year can become a challenge (especially for us old folks). Again, to reiterate, in the above freezing seasons, it works great.

Works well
These work well when you have sewer gas coming out of vents for different reasons that’ll happen whether septic or city sewer system. It just happens anyway easy way to fix it.

Stink gone
Septic tank odor gone after applying to vent pipe. Seems expensive, but price is competitive and the removal of the stink seems worth it. I’ve installed 4 of these now at different houses. Haven’t ever replaced the activated carbon.
