Finally, a UFO book that answers questions doesn't ask them
Finally! A book on the UFO phenomenon that doesn't leave you wondering why the public is being kept in the dark and lied to but actually answers questions. Not only does Robert Salas tell us why and how it all got started. He moves on to tells us who's been doing the obfuscation, the history of why it all got started and who started holding the truth back. You'll learn where the secrets are kept and how the truth has been kept from so many people for so long. You'll see that even those with top secret security clearances can't get to the bottom of the issue because the information is compartmentalized that nobody anywhere, even the President can dig out enough truth to get a picture of the real situation. If like me you have read almost every UFO book to be published since the 1950's, you will find this information very satisfying to your long unsatisfied curiosity about why our democratic government would withhold so much vital information about alien visitation to earth from "we the people" who should have all the information we need to elect our leaders. This is perhaps the most informative history book ever written covering the post WWII and cold war era from the UFO perspective. This book is a real page turner, but unlike so many book on the subject, this one actually gives answers rather than leaving the reader hanging at the end like a Saturday morning serial. There was a famous line in a move that said, "You can't handle the truth". Apparently that's what our leaders believe. But if you can handle the truth, buy this book and read it! It left me with many mixed emotions; Disillusionment with my so-called democratic government. Fear when I found out that much of that government was/is both scared of what's happening and powerless to do anything about it. Anger that those same officials didn't trust its citizens enough to level with them and come straight out and disclose the truth. And finally, disgust that our government servants would share their hidden knowledge with various military industrial complex privateers so that corporations could continue to get rich by continuing to pollute the earth for profit while exploiting what alien technology they could get their hands on and understand to build better weapons while at the same time keeping potential beneficial alien technology out of the civilian sector so they could milk their investment in petroleum and atomic technologies to get richer for as long as possible. I couldn't recommend this book any higher. I gave it 5-stars because that's as high as Amazon goes, but I' add more stars if I could.

Some New Information Here
This book by Robert Salas is kind of a typical UFO book, but deserves attention because Mr. Salas is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and a retired United States Air Force Officer who was present at some of the UFO encounters related in his book, and he speaks with some authority, credibility, and quite possibly some risk.Mr. Salas is very critical of the extreme secrecy within the United States government, indicating that it can and does lead to corruption, as we are witnessing today. He was present when UFOs shut down ten (10) nuclear warhead armed Minuteman missiles on two (2) different occasions at Malmstrom Air Force Base and he describes these incidents in detail.Mr. Salas discusses other UFO encounters, many of which are new, but some of which will be familiar to those who are well read on the subject of UFOs. The chapter titled, “A Strange Love of Nukes” is particularly interesting in that it lists fourteen (14) cases where UFOs have visited nuclear installations from 1945 through 2010, some previously unreported in UFO lore, as well as incidents where there have been accidental emissions from nuclear facilities. The book has a few black and white pictures scattered through it that I haven’t seen before, and it presents some interesting speculations on the reasons for the UFO phenomena and the extraterrestrial’s agenda.“Unidentified: The UFO Phenomenon”, is an easy and interesting read for all UFO enthusiasts, even though all the questions regarding this amazing phenomena remain unanswered. DRAT!

The UFO Phenomenon - Documentation of Their Capabilities!
It's no longer a question of "is there something up there?" That answer has been known for at least sixty years. Today the question is "what is their capability?" This book, documented at every step, gives us a good idea. ET's can disable our nuclear missiles at will and they're interested in our reproductive organs. There's no hype here. This is factual reporting by (extremely) credible eyewitnesses. If you're a believer, this book will give you solid new information backed by facts. If you're a disbeliever, I promise you that you'll come away from reading this book with serious doubts about your position. And the bottom line is, as always, we all have to put pressure on the government, Air Force, Navy, FBI and CIA to bring the public up to speed on the wealth of information on Unidentified Flying Objects.

Salas seemed to always be where the action was! I've read there is some question about it's authenticity! I finally finished it, after several starts & stops! I have to give it (4) stars, for the wealth of technological detail it contains! If this book is accurate, Robert Salas is a patriot! I've often thought, how was it possible, so soon after WWII, that we entered the computer age! According to Salas, Roswell made it possible!

Much better than the average UFO book presenting new information and insights from a qualified author. The Salas book is entertaining and informative..a fast read. Once again, the case is strongly made that the UFO phenomenon must be taken seriously by the scientific community, and the public must demand that the government share it's information..all of it, good or bad! This is a very good read worth the purchase.

An Important Figure In the UFO Phenomenon
Robert Salas is without a doubt, a central figure when it comes to the UFO mystery. He was right there on the ground (or more correctly, underground) when many US nuclear weapons bases were visited and missiles sometimes even deactivated. This theme has become a familiar one over the years (Bentwaters I think is probably the most celebrated case here in the UK) but Salas was a serving military man and it's very interesting to read about his experiences and get his input on the unbelievable events. He is very knowledgeable and articulate and has spoken at length at various press conferences, notably in Washington in 2010.I think it's largely due to the persistence of Salas, and researchers such as the late Stanton Friedman, Richard Dolan, Linda Moulton Howe, Timothy Good and others, that the US military has finally pointed to some of its footage of UFOs and admitted that they're not weather balloons, drones, temperature inversions and so on, but are real and we don't know who they are or what their origins are.I think Salas was right when he said that (quote) "I think it was simply a show. They (the intelligence behind the UFOs) wanted to shine a light on our nuclear weapons and just send us a message".Excellent read. Only 4 stars though - as pointed out by other reviewers, when it starts getting really interesting, suddenly you find you're reading the epilogue.

ALIEN STEW
Mr. Salas veers from boring windy descriptions of US history since the War to really interesting case studies of UFO events. Adrift, the book is spasmodically entertaining and tedious; in parts a labour to read. Add to this his political bias , his belief in the broader distortions of the present government [on every issue but UFO's] and we have a hodge podge , a mixed product. Don't buy unless you are a devotee.

The skeptics have theories, Robert Salas has facts.
First things first, the book isn't the biggest book in the world, in fact its a little on the small side.Which is a shame because it's a very well written book. But don't be worried by the size of the book because what's in the book is worth every penny.Robert Salas is a very credible man & is very educated in many subjects. He puts the facts out there for all to see, & leaves you in little doubt that what he's saying is true. Not many books are this well written & I hope he writes more books.I just wish the UFO subject had more people like Robert Salas, Leslie Kean, Terry Hansen & Richard Dolan who don't speculate they just present well researched facts & leave the rest to the reader. If your interested in UFOs buy this book.If you a skeptic buy this book.If your not sure what you believe about UFOs buy this book.Because its will help you understand a whole lot more about the UFO subject. What a book well done Robert Salas.

From a totally different angle!!
Robert Salas writes on the subject of UFOs from the perspective of us humans...and writes broadly about our evolution and the obvious signs to why possibly these elusive UFOs and abductions are not mainstream or something that has 'hard concrete evidence' to support it.After all, looking from an outside perspective, if we were the aliens would any of us at the present time wish to make full contact with the human race?Well structured and interesting read.

Not for every one.
Nearly finished this book. Well what can I say, it's a case of how flexible your mind is. Statement made that can only be discribes as fantacy, or are they, that is the question, if you are a person who likes to believe that we are being manipulated by governments and that humans are far more advanced than you know from what you see around you this is the book for you.
