I have another Motopower battery maintainer that I really like so when it was time to buy another one for my motorcycle, I went with this one. Motorcycle batteries are expensive and don't tend to last very long so I do everything that I can to extend their life. I'm not sure if the desulfation feature does much to extend life on a battery that is properly cared for, but I DO know that keeping the battery trickle charged-- especially over the winter-- is essential. Discharging a battery can permanently reduce its capacity, and even if it takes a charge again, it may never be the same. Whenever I come home from a ride, my motorcycle gets plugged into the battery maintainer. I'm not worried about the battery getting discharged during a ride because the motorcycle's charging system will keep it topped up. However, I AM worried about the battery gradually discharging if the motorcycle sits for days or weeks. Keeping it plugged in when I'm not riding prevents this from happening. Mine is permanently installed, which entails connecting the pigtail with the ring terminals to the battery. This is straightforward but routing the cable to a place where you can reach the connector may be difficult, especially on a motorcycle with lots of fairings (IE sport bikes). I bought my bike with a pigtail already installed so I got lucky, but I did have to verify that the polarity is correct (it was). The charger should have reverse polarity protection, but I wouldn't count on it to save me. I checked before plugging it in for the first time. If you haven't done so already, I strongly recommend getting a cap for the pigtail on your motorcycle and capping off the pigtail whenever the charger is not plugged in. This will prevent water, road salt, debris, etc. from getting into the connector, which can cause corrosion. I also put a small dab of dielectric grease in the plug about once a season, which makes it easier to plug and unplug the charger and protects the terminals a bit. Overkill probably but easy enough to do and gives me peace of mind. I also add some dielectric to the ring terminals before installing on the battery to keep corrosion at bay. I have a motorcycle battery that is going on its third year with me and an unknown number of years with the previous owner. I have no idea how long it will last, but I DO know that it's keeping the battery alive longer, especially during the winter months. The last motorcycle battery I bought was right around $100. At that price, this charger is cheap insurance.

I have a 35 year old Kubota diesel garden tractor that has a full size (Size 65 - 625 cranking amps) battery. This battery has been installed for 8 years+ and just lately it is starting to lose enough charge over a few weeks to not start the tractor. I took the ring connectors from this charger and attached them to the battery and hooked up the charger. The battery was at 12.57 volts upon hookup and within an hour it was at 13.39 and climbing. I unhooked the charger, started the tractor and mowed the lawn. The charger is now permanently installed in my garage and will sit on this battery going forward. I suspect it will gain me another year or two before buying another at $200. If I can stretch this battery just one year, it is making me money. This charger is easy to sure, easy to understand and I found its compatibility with my needs to be spot on. It's functionality is as simple as it gets. Plug it in, hook it up and it does all the rest until you are ready to go. Fantastic value for the money. Save your battery, pocket some cash.

Bought this for use on my 2025 Suzuki GSX8R as I only drive it on weekends. I often travel and it’s nice to plug this beauty in while I’m away (Sometimes for 7-8 weeks) knowing when I return the bike fires right up and the battery is happy while I neglect it lol. Solid build quality after the drop test 🫣. Connectors are standard and serviceable. Easy to set up and use with or without prewired battery connectors. Good buy.

Update 22 June 2024: five down to three was too harsh. It was extremely inexpensive and served well for four years. After searching (endlessly) for an appropriate replacement, I ended up buying another MotoPower unit - their 1.5a version. I figure a device with a little more heft probably won't generate as much heat as this one did, so may last even longer; and it was barely more than what I paid for the first one! Update 19 June 2024: After almost exactly four years in service, The charger died. Wife smelled the acrid scent of burnt out electronics and alerted me to it. It was in use daily for all four years. A while after the narrative below, I had set up a Raspberry Pi to monitor the battery voltage and turn this on when it reached a certain threshold - the backend story is the 2018 Honda Accord has a nasty parasitic draw problem, so it was necessary to alway have it monitored and charged cyclicly. So it was powered on and off from a few times to maybe ten times a day. However, a charger like this is _not_ a complex device; exactly four years of service strikes me as 'planned obsolescence'. So I'm dropping the rating from five stars to three stars. It is not hard to build simple electronics to last decades. There's just no good excuse for a short life - other than to 'encourage' a new purchase. Here's my tale: After a couple of months of driving my car barely once a week during the COVID-19 isolation orders, my 2018 Honda Accord wouldn't start. Tried a jump start from wife's 2002 Honda Civic - still no go. yikes! Got out the decent quality multi-meter I have - less than 8 volts, from a 12V battery. Double yikes! Checked the electrolyte - whoa, one of the six cells had exposed plates. Well, that fairly well explains the very low volts. Topped it up to the line, then tried jump start again...yep, triple yikes. Well, I had plenty of time on my hands being furloughed, so I ordered this little unit. Inexpensive, but it made appropriate promises for what it can do, for what it costs. Ratings good. Some horrible though. Took the chance. At 800mA, this is not going to charge a 500Ah car battery quickly. I hooked it up and monitored the voltage for several days. Weather was rather warm, 80's to 90's F, and I noticed this little device getting pretty darned hot - too hot, in fact. Disconnected it and took off the back plate. Board very hot to touch, capacitor and transformer too hot to touch. Bad design! This thing needs to either be potted with a non-conductive heat sink material for full contact with the inside of the case, or the case needs vents. Period. That much heat will toast those components over time. True - I was asking the device for all it had - to charge a pretty deeply discharged 12V high amp capacity battery. Which isn't _per se_ its intended function. Still though. I decided to DIY. Took a drill and drilled four holes in the back plate, and two holes on each side, see photos. Pretty? Not on your life. Crude but fairly effective? Yes indeed, at least, it allowed _some_ of that heat to dissipate. Eventually there was enough charge to start the car, took it for a long drive, then hooked it up again to see if it would complete the full cycle - which it did after another day. It eventually hit the couple of voltage marks to go into absorption mode, then into float mode. Highly accurate too - 14.19v - still absorption mode. 14.20v - boom, float mode. Repeatable. For twenty bucks, it did what I wanted - and most importantly, what I _expected_ - unlike some of the reviews that complain it took days to charge their battery...well duh! It puts out less than an amp, expecting a fast charge from a slow charge device is just....dumb. That said - please guys - make the 'slotted' sides into real slots, to let some air flow through it. I realize it adds a little to the manufacturing costs, but people will get a longer life out of their (admittedly tiny) investment in this - and maybe fewer will die out in the field, eliciting bad reviews. As for me, I'm very happy with it - because it met my expectations.

These are nice little battery tenders for the price. They cycle thru charging and maintaing the battery as needed. Some I’ve had in the past claim they float but did not and would end up burning up the battery. These ones seem to work properly. Time will tell how long they last but so far so good.

As long as the cord is laying flat, it performs as expected. I had it dangling in the air and it didn’t work the best. Is compatible with my Suzuki SV650 2003. I wouldn’t recommend leaving it on for an extended period of time but worked to recharge my battery!

Very good set up,good price

So far this product seems to work fine. It is unquestionably cheaply made. The terminal clamps are cheap plastic, but it maintains the battery. There's no indication of settings for the battery type (i.e., AGM, Lithium, or flooded maintenance) so one has to assume it's okay to use. I would recommend research if you're going to charge a lithium battery, but it seems to work for my purposes. I suspect that it'll last a few years as many have reported in other reviews. For the money, it'll do the job. If you want higher quality, go with Noco or Battery Tender, but it'll cost about $20 more.

Macht genau was er soll, einfache Montage, bis jetzt hält er alles Versprechungen und meine Batterie macht keine Problem mehr.
