Review: Great bang for the buck - I have another Motopower battery maintainer that I really like so when it was time to buy another one for my motorcycle, I went with this one. Motorcycle batteries are expensive and don't tend to last very long so I do everything that I can to extend their life. I'm not sure if the desulfation feature does much to extend life on a battery that is properly cared for, but I DO know that keeping the battery trickle charged-- especially over the winter-- is essential. Discharging a battery can permanently reduce its capacity, and even if it takes a charge again, it may never be the same. Whenever I come home from a ride, my motorcycle gets plugged into the battery maintainer. I'm not worried about the battery getting discharged during a ride because the motorcycle's charging system will keep it topped up. However, I AM worried about the battery gradually discharging if the motorcycle sits for days or weeks. Keeping it plugged in when I'm not riding prevents this from happening. Mine is permanently installed, which entails connecting the pigtail with the ring terminals to the battery. This is straightforward but routing the cable to a place where you can reach the connector may be difficult, especially on a motorcycle with lots of fairings (IE sport bikes). I bought my bike with a pigtail already installed so I got lucky, but I did have to verify that the polarity is correct (it was). The charger should have reverse polarity protection, but I wouldn't count on it to save me. I checked before plugging it in for the first time. If you haven't done so already, I strongly recommend getting a cap for the pigtail on your motorcycle and capping off the pigtail whenever the charger is not plugged in. This will prevent water, road salt, debris, etc. from getting into the connector, which can cause corrosion. I also put a small dab of dielectric grease in the plug about once a season, which makes it easier to plug and unplug the charger and protects the terminals a bit. Overkill probably but easy enough to do and gives me peace of mind. I also add some dielectric to the ring terminals before installing on the battery to keep corrosion at bay. I have a motorcycle battery that is going on its third year with me and an unknown number of years with the previous owner. I have no idea how long it will last, but I DO know that it's keeping the battery alive longer, especially during the winter months. The last motorcycle battery I bought was right around $100. At that price, this charger is cheap insurance.
Review: A Battery Stretcher, Pays For Itself - Works Perfect - Easy To Use - I have a 35 year old Kubota diesel garden tractor that has a full size (Size 65 - 625 cranking amps) battery. This battery has been installed for 8 years+ and just lately it is starting to lose enough charge over a few weeks to not start the tractor. I took the ring connectors from this charger and attached them to the battery and hooked up the charger. The battery was at 12.57 volts upon hookup and within an hour it was at 13.39 and climbing. I unhooked the charger, started the tractor and mowed the lawn. The charger is now permanently installed in my garage and will sit on this battery going forward. I suspect it will gain me another year or two before buying another at $200. If I can stretch this battery just one year, it is making me money. This charger is easy to sure, easy to understand and I found its compatibility with my needs to be spot on. It's functionality is as simple as it gets. Plug it in, hook it up and it does all the rest until you are ready to go. Fantastic value for the money. Save your battery, pocket some cash.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I used to booster the dead battery in my car**
A: A small car battery can easily hold 60 amp hours. At .8 amps per hour (but only 80% efficient), it would take almost 100 hours to charge. That is, mathematically. However, this is not made to charge a dead battery (or even a low battery). It is made to keep a properly charged battery from becoming discharged. The most important thing--if a battery does not show a sufficient charge when you attach the charger leads, the charger will not turn on. It needs to know it is hooked to a battery, and not just shorted out, so it looks for at least a few volts. So...........no.

**Q: How long can the charger be hooked up to the battery on a motorcycle in maintenance mode?**
A: The charger maintains the battery at approximately 13.6 to 13.7 volts DC. It should be safe to leave this charger connected to batteries indefinitely when the ambient temp is 50F or below -- the lower the ambient temp is the more voltage a battery can handle. I have my Motopower chargers hooked up to my boat and Sea Doo batteries, and I plug them for about 24 hours every couple weeks to keep them topped off. The only batteries that I keep connected full time are my tractor and whole-house generator, and I use a "true float" maintainer that automatically "goes to sleep" when the battery reaches its full charge (each battery has its own full charge voltage level).

**Q: How long is the power cord and how long is the other (battery supply?) cord? Thanks in advance.**
A: The AC power cord is about 25inches, while the DC cable is about 5ft.
The SAE alligator clamps cable and the SAE ring terminal cable are both at the length of 15inches.
Thank you!

**Q: Will this charger consume energy if left hooked up to the battery? does any led lights stay on when unplugged from 120v but still hooked to the batter**
A: Hi no. No lights should be on when charger is not plugged in to power even while the connectors are still connected to the battery.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great battery maintenance device.

Bought this for use on my 2025 Suzuki GSX8R as I only drive it on weekends. I often travel and it’s nice to plug this beauty in while I’m away (Sometimes for 7-8 weeks) knowing when I return the bike fires right up and the battery is happy while I neglect it lol. Solid build quality after the drop test 🫣. Connectors are standard and serviceable. Easy to set up and use with or without prewired battery connectors. Good buy.
