Its an amazing book told in the Fable style. Its a good read for first time manager who are dealing with a team

An excellent book written in the form of a fable. Though written in 1998, this can be adapted in any century for both professional and personal life. A must Read.

I've experienced this philosophy in a company I had worked for for over 27 years. Patience is needed as working cultures are not changed overnight - it might take years. Management could use the excuse that it's just a fairy tale, but it could be they don't like to relinquish responsibility and control over others - mainly those who are in the front line. Egoistical managers could have difficulty in accepting the philosophy and may even actively try to scupper attempts to introduce it. When it works, as I've seen it work, the company or organization becomes a great place to work. Given time, understanding, changes in culture for the better makes slow going. It almost goes against human nature of competition in the workplace. Work-place bullies are subdued and lose their power. Those with hitherto subdued ideas and enthusiasm come alive. Those who refuse to take up Zapp may have to be removed from a senior or supervisory position, but In my experience only one such manager had to go within the organization of thousands. A skillful and committed leader of Zapp is probably a necessity. Without such a leader(s), nothing will change.

This a great book to really help you focus on good management and creativity. It is written almost too simply but really gets to the nub of the problem which affects many companies both small and large. It is also a quick read which means you can dip into it whenever you need to give yourself a Zapp!

So nice to be able to buy this classic in hard cover and in such an immaculate condition. Thank you everyone who sells these great books back to Amazon so that others can enjoy them a second time around.
