The Best, and Most Realistic Golf Game on PS4
This is a really good golf game which will have you coming back time and time again for more, despite the frustrations. I find the playability on some PS4 sports games a little disappointing sometimes but this game is really good and so much better than the Tiger Woods variations of yesteryear. There are a host of courses for the player to get to grips with on once the basics have been 'mastered'. Swing, chipping and putting techniques can be honed on the practice ground before the real thing beings. There's also the opportunity to join the PGA Tour via Q-School/ Tour qualifying. A course designer as well if you fancy re-creating some classic courses that don't feature. There are frustrations, which some reviews have attempted to touch upon but, that for me only adds to the realism. Essentially, you are required to use the analog stick to swing the club by pulling back and forward in a straight line. Sounds straightforward but just like the real game of golf, timing and the ability to do the same thing correctly, time and time again are what it is all about. And it is the ability to do that, that is the challenge. Just like the real game, silly, unnecessary habits will creep in and ensure that no one round is like the last. Putting is all about touch and feel on the greens and when it all comes together, it's a great feeling! If you are looking for a golf game with realism, I wouldn't look any further. It'll frustrate at times but provide great satisfaction when it all comes together.

Best Golf game in a long while
Absolutely amazing golf game. Since it launched a while ago, I was hesitant about trying this as in images I saw it never looked quite as pretty as Rory McIlroy's game. I was definitely wrong, graphics are fantastic, gameplay is much less 'arcade-y' than McIlroy's Pga Tour and the 'story' is very good. You start off as a rookie and go through the entire season all the way up to the Fed Ex Cup. Commentator isn't top notch but he's a good lad so it's not a problem. I do wish there was a classic progression for your golfer like in the old pga titles, whereby the more you play and win the more distance you can hit your balls etc., but that to me is the only flaw. Multiplayer is fast for 1v1s and alternate shot games with 4 players are amazingly fun. Definitely recommend to all golfers :)

The golf mechanisms are solid, but there are so many missed opportunities in everything else
Here are the reasons why I won’t be playing this game much more, even though I love the golf:It’s not fun to be in the game’s world! The following features make it a “sterile” experience:* The menu system’s environments and rendered 2D images of a country club show empty rooms and spaces. Like a ghost club where all the people are missing* The in-game money has a strange low value. Prize-money for the top performers in an 18-hole competition are sub-200 sums like “180”. 180 Dollars? Seems very low. I’ve played 5 tournament rounds so far, landed in top 10 spots on all of them, and my total earnings are in the 1000-2000 range. Why not pay your players properly? It's just a game after all.* Spending one’s in-game money is no fun. There’s no inspiring pro shop, and the graphics of the different clubs to buy are generic and simple. Where is all the "bling"!? Where are all the cool golf brands? I couldn't care less about colouring the head, shaft and grip of my clubs, if my clubs come across a no-brand generic sticks.* The character creation system’s pre-configured selection of faces is laughably limited and without variation. I didn’t want to be any of them, neither male nor female. The 3D designers who modelled this game's character-choices did a horrendous job with those faces. Come on - help us enjoy getting immersed in your game, please!* While out on the course, the crowds that line the fairways and greens are completely non-reactive to the ball flying into their midst. No one moves out of the way, and they don’t even rotate to face the action. The ball, from a PGA Tour professional player is right there by your legs, close enough for you to touch! Be either impressed by your closeness to the action, or terrified at how close it was to knocking you on the head! Made me think those crowds might not be real people...* I'd like some more inspired charts and graphs on my golf statistics and history, too. Make me want to collect achievements, like they do so well in many other games! Play on our desire to complete stuff!Playing this game solo is like being in a place where all of the rest of humanity has left (or been abducted) - except the commentators. They're there in the background, and sound pretty good. And considering how equipment-oriented (and brand oriented) a sport like golf is, one would think this game, with it’s official PGA licence, would have made enjoyable the non-playing parts of the experience, too.I liked the golf mechanisms of this game, but not the wrapping the game-play and menus come in.Seems like they stopped short of its true potential, which is a shame.---------------------------------------------------UPDATE (1.5 months after my initial review)I HAVE actually continued playing this game: Multiplayer, online with friends and family members who don't live in my household. We find the quality of the golf mechanisms and physics good (and several of the courses beautiful), so playing 9 or 18 holes in each other's company is something we've come to enjoy a lot. If there's a 2020 or 2021 version of this game in the making, I will be on the lookout for it - hoping they've addressed the kinds of issues I highlighted in the above review.

Good golf game for the money I paid
As a fan of the Tiger Woods golf and then going to Rory Mclroy golf. This golf game is taking some time getting use to swing speed and putting speed. It’s much more difficult getting the shot distance and shot accuracy and putting distance right.Graphics are excellent.A lot more golf courses to choose from.Commentry could have been better.I’m glad I waited for it to come out on disc format and to pay £25.This game can be a real pleasure to play when you get your swing speed and accuracy and putting right.-14 par on the scotsdale course. On the other hand be so frustrating when it all goes wrong leaving you a bit baffled.I think this golf game is more down to feel and sensing the shot.

Great
This game is fantastic and if your a golf fan which what it sounds like from the reviews on here most ant, it takes a lot to get used to and it is a very hard game but that’s golf for ya and all these idiots saying it’s crap is because they only like games where they win all the time, trust me it will take a while to master this game but when you do it’s great, I agree with some people the graphics could be better but that’s only on the crowd but everything else is spot on, don’t go crying to your mommy or throwing the pad at the tv because you can’t play it, figure the game out and you’ll get better!!

Challenging
Very enjoyable and quite realistic game, controls take a bit of getting used to if you haven't played a game like this before or in a while like myself. Not tried the online part yet.

Golf en vivo y en directo
Un juego tan real que te costará acostumbrarte a su manejo. No por ello es malo. Es todo un desafío.Por el precio, valía mucho la pena probarlo.La única pega, totalmente en inglés.

Nice golf simulator
Easy game to play but very hard to master which is what I believe golf to be in real life. It is nice that they have opened it up so you can create your own course and upload it and you can play a lot of courses other people have created. Some of these appear to be real courses and it is very easy to tell that some of them are fantasy courses. A very nice mix.

Bello e impegnativo
