They run small, good tail bone protection
I guess there is no prefect product. Number one they run small, I'm 6.1 skinny guy and the M size is kind of tight on me which can be a good and the bad thing if you’re wearing them on top of your underwear I think that’s perfect because my previous ones were kind of big so I was wearing them on top of my sweatpants and the padding is not very thick which again can be a good and a bad thing: good because they’re not bulky and bad thing they may not provide enough protection for wherever you’re doing. I’ll be using them for ice-skating so for me they’re perfect because they will not be visible underneath the jeans. They don’t have very good site protection, but they have very good tailbone protection meaning departing runs very high to your back they’re comfortable for walking and moving around. You can barely feel them.

Solid protection
Snowboarding park rider: Saved my butt many times however my ankle on the other hand!! In all seriousness this is a must have. Helps you go harder since you have the ability to take falls, just be careful as the top sentence says it all. No matter how much you protect yourself you still have areas of weak points.

They do fit, and I fell on my bottom, my spine is not broken
I wish some of the padding was just a little bit better around the hip area. But you are able to take a fall straight on your backside and walk it off without going to the hospital, or even being bruised at all. Depending on how hard you’ve fallen of course. Normal level falls will be blunted significantly with this on. Works for snowboarding as well as skateboarding. And decently comfortable. You do get used to the feel over time and forget it’s there. As long as you’ve gotten a large enough size. Definitely worth the price. No one can notice that you’re wearing these things. I wear some synthetic under armor pants, then these, then regular medium or large sweatpants. The fit is good for me. Usually I wear a size medium or large for sweatpants. I purchased a size medium from Triple 8, and it appears to be a size medium.

Saved my beginner snowboarder butt
Used it for one trip in the alps and it really saved me (I fall a lot :(). Amazingly good cushioning (even on rock hard ice), great fit (got a medium, I’m waist 30) - stays in place the whole day but comfy and not too tight, seems like great quality!

Comfortable but fit needs improvement
I have a 31 inch waist so the medium did fit fast but the cut left much to be desired. It was a little too big in the crotch area, which I assume is because I’m a female, and they were leaving an extra room for the unisex fit. Awkward. But the main problem was the hip padding. It did not actually cover my hips. Hip bone and joint Will not protect because it doesn’t actually cover/reach that area. The pros - I’ve tried a few on and these are very comfortable, comparatively for sure. They completely cover the tailbone, which was my main goal. I haven’t fallen yet, but they don’t seem to shift out of place where you’re left unprotected on the tailbone. I would say medium coverage - I’m a recreational skater, but for more heavy duty stunts and aggressive style skating or derby these probably wouldn’t be sufficient.. For recreational users like me it’s great because I can fit it easily under my jeans or pants or shorts. Also very lightweight and comfy to sit in. Moves/bends with your body. Lastly, the advertisement said removable pads when I googled these shorts but be aware - they are not removable (sewn in). I wish they had better coverage over the hip bone. The padding that is supposed to protect that area is useless and not removable. With this one change, I would’ve rated them five star

Great skate pads
Bought these for a friend, found them on sale thankfully. We have been searching for a good pair of skate pants with good padding for quite some time, buying several different pairs and ultimately being unsatisfied. These have padding in all the right places. He has taken a couple slams since purchase and these have minimized the impact and trauma to his hip, which is what we were looking for. They can be washed on a gental cycle and dryed on a delicate cycle, though I normally try to hang dry them so the pads don't fall apart over time. You don't have to remove the pads to wash them, which is a huge plus for me. Was fighting with other shorts trying to remove pads and it was always stressful. Thankfully not these. I recommend these shorts to beginners and advanced skaters that don't want their hips torn up on a slam. Good for concrete bowls and vert.

Nice quality and good fit
I bought these in preparation for learning to skate. I was on the fence about what size to get but went with the small and I am very happy with how they fit. I am 5’3, 110lbs for reference. I think a medium could also fit bc they are compression shorts. If you are deciding between sizes, I’d personally recommend going with the larger size. The padding provides full backside coverage without being ridiculously bulky. The foam is harder than I was expecting and if I were to fall directly on my butt it would likely still hurt but not nearly as much as it would without protection. I bruised my tailbone 15 years ago and never want to go through that pain again. The price of these shorts is absolutely worth the peace of mind.

I use them for inline skating. They don't give you 100% protection, but they do give you critical protection and they are comfortable and you hardly look like you are wearing them. Ideal.

As an adult learning to snowboard, I wanted to cover my butt for the inevitable falls I would have. After reading a ton of reviews, I found these and they don’t disappoint. While I try to stay in control, these made a big difference when I did fall. As others suggested I ordered the larger size as I was between sizes; happy with that choice. Even bought a second pair for my preteen and she likes them too.
