Plumb Craft 7644000A Copper Toilet Float Ball

I do not understand how plastic float balls fail, but they always do. After a few years, water finds its way in one way or another, and your toilet forever makes that faint noise of filling up slowly. I hear it when I'm trying to sleep.Anyway, these are fantastic. They are soldered completely closed, and then the threaded fitting is soldered to it, so it is absolutely, positively air- and watertight. You could submerge one of these for a century, and they'd work as well as they did the day they were submerged. I just replaced the float balls in both of my toilets, after having replaced the plastic ones once already. I'll never have to buy another float ball again.I am a bit curious, why copper? Certainly brass, stainless steel, or aluminum would have worked. The design of these makes them look like they were meant for display. It's kind of a shame to hide them in the toilet tank. Regardless, these do an excellent job, and they're built for a lifetime of use.One note: there is NO packaging for these; they arrive with a barcode stuck directly to them, in whatever packing material Amazon decided to use. One arrived slightly dented, though that didn't make it any less effective.

I bought two if these to go with my brass flush valve. Worked great. I expect them to outlive me.

My only issue with this float ball was the need to wrap the threads on the float rod with lots of teflon tape. If not, the float ball had a very loose connection. Not sure if this is a defect with the float ball or the float rod I was using. All in all, this was a very great product for just under $10.BTW, it's advertised as being made in China but mine had a sticker on it that said 'Made in USA.'

Product could not be assembled per the instructions. The Float arm was threaded (male) on one end and not of the other. As a result, the float ball could be connected to the floating arm, but not to the Ballcock (for technically interested only). It was very beautiful if used for a paper weight, but for the manufacture did not perform, even a visual inspection of the product. If the manufacture had just bother to look at the part (floating arm), this would have worked out okay.Don't bother purchasing this product or any other related parts from this manufacture. If you do, you will just have to ship it right back to them.William

I purchased this for a sculpture, not for plumbing, and it arrived dented. It is still technically usable as it is manufactured for, but is useless for my needs.

Our old toilet insides fell apart and my husband was delighted to find the parts he needed on Amazon. He put in the float ball along with the Brass Ballcock Valve and Body and everything works great.

Product arrived in excellent condition, no dents, and fit as expected. Replaced a 70 year old float that was beginning to fail. I would expect this to last just as long.
