Fly me to the moon, play upon a star ⭐️
I would almost automatically give it five stars. Look, I must say right up front-I am a huge Benchmade fanboy. They are far and away my favorite knives.Yet I really hesitated before buying this one . I was looking to get another larger size folder for my collection. And I was really leaning towards the Adamas. When I came upon this knife, I was frankly a little put off by its styling. A bit too out there for me. I’m pretty conservative. Yet I have a long background in aviation manufacturing. So I finally broke down and bought it. I don’t regret it for one second. She’s a beauty!Typical Benchmade quality. Flawless. Rock solid. Zero play in the blade. Perfectly centered. No movement either side. Arrived sharp as a scalpel. The handle/scales are a bit thick, and it’s a large knife. You know you’ve got a big old hunk of tool in your hand. The blade length is very well suited to the handle.I love s30 steel. Takes and then holds a seriously sharp edge. A little difficult to sharpen for the novice, but you’ll get it.I do think it’s kinda chunky in my pocket if you know what I mean. But I knew it would be going into it. The styling? All I can say is that it has grown on me. It’s very different from most knives. I guess it’s just a personal thing. Either you like it or you don’t. I love it now.I have many other brands of knives. Spyderco, Z.T., Esee, Ontario,Spartan, CRKT, you name it. They’re all very good quality knives. I just happen to think Benchmade is the best. I feel that the axis lock is superior to all other types. Hey, I admitted up front that I am a fanboy. lolThis is a beautiful, solid, excellent quality piece of steel. I think you will love it as much as I do. Go ahead and get one. I doubt very much that you will regret it.Made in the USA 🇺🇸That’s very, very important to me. I love this countryThanks for reading

USA quality / Benchmade is top Knife MFR.
Benchmade knives are higher quality than even Böker —> whose four subcategories Arbolito, Magnum, Plus, and Cinch (entry-level and aren’t even made in Germany). The HUGE blade on this Benchmade #737 Aileron is even bigger/better/faster/stronger than the photo depicts. No need for a teenie-bopper “assisted” knife to impress people. Flick this massive S30V blade and INERTIA opens it faster than the blink of an eye. And, this seller did a great job, with prompt dispatch/shipping. Would buy from them, again.

If $200 doesn’t bother you it’s worth it.
benchmade is benchmade you either love their knives or hate them. I looked at the picture of the aileron and said to myself ahh! Nice long handle until it arrived then i said oh I guess I can live with this handle. it has a real nice blade and it's different. i still don't know about the price but I will keep it because it started to grow on me. I'm a knife addict I had to keep it. The blade is made of S30V which is a very good stainless steel. So if you don’t have very large hands it’s a great feel

Very versatile knife. ...but some changes could be better
Overall this is a GREAT Benchmade knife. I'm just going to get to the negatives in my option.1. The jimping on the under side where your index finger rests is too aggressive and in my option not even needed.2. The handle length is too short. My hands are relatively big so someone with smaller hands with be just fine.3. The knife that was shipped to me the blade centering is off.Other than the above issues, this will make a fantastic working and functional knife.A defensive knife? Yeah sure. Yet so is ANY knife!
