The gold standard for the gold standard type of jelly
Lately, I have been unable to buy any form of black raspberry jelly off the shelf, so I resorted to looking around here, and I was elated to find that I would be able to buy six jars for a very reasonable (to me) price.I had read some reviews mentioning that some jars had broken in shipping, but I'm happy to say that all six arrived in perfect condition.More importantly, this is the old style black raspberry jelly that I grew up as the second half of my PB&J sandwiches for decades now, and it's regular jelly, not the "fruit spread" version that had been my only option for black raspberry until even that disappeared from my grocery store shelves about a year ago.Speaking from a personal preference aspect, the popular favorite of grape jelly takes a back seat to black raspberry, and I can honestly say that Smucker's product is indistinguishable from the homemade version that we made a few times when I was young, using wild black raspberries that my brothers and I labored away picking for hours to get.

Damaged
The jelly is delicious. One of my favorites. The problem was six jars of jelly were wrapped in one sheet of bubble wrap and put in a large box with my other items. You can probably see where I’m going with this. One jar broke and leaked jelly all over everything. It was a very hot day so it melted and ran out the bottom of the box which I didn’t notice until I sat the box down on my carpet. I’m still trying to get out the stain. Like I said before the jelly is yummy.

An old fave comes back
In your household every family has the same peanut butter but what about the jelly ? There's strawberry or grape mainly..but in mine it was smuckers brand and it was always black raspberry. You can no longer find smuckers black raspberry in stores. It's obsolete. Now that Amazon has it, it's a dream come true.Same flavor same packaging, it's a classic.

Flavor and availability
Flavor is great and I have always liked smuckers brand and hard to find in our stores at Knoxville Iowa. The Black Rasberry for sure is the hardest to find so have to order online if I want this flavor and it is the flavor my family likes the most also.

Glass Jars. My first order had 2 broken jars. Be prepared that can happen.
SMUCKERS has always sold high quality jams and jellies. For black raspberry jelly, this is actually cheaper than my own family recipe, after it is all said and done. Black raspberries are rarely sold in stores or farmers markets, they have to be gathered in the wild(harder to find any more) or you need to raise them yourself. I still do my own, BUT in an urban garden, it is hard to grow enough to last all year.

Delicious
So much better than just plain grape. This was hard to find and I was happy to get it on Amazon!

Great product, good price!
My wife has been unable to find this in grocery stores. It’s one of our favorites, so imagine her joy when it arrived. That’s right, I got points!

Broken replacement
We love this hard-to-find jelly and were happy to find it on amazon. The item was replaced because jars were broken. in the first shipment. The replacements were also broken and leaking from the shipping box onto our porch floor. The box was too large for its contents. Of the 12 jars in the two shipments, we have 2 intact jars of jelly. The glass jars were not wrapped well enough for shipping with only a thin covering of bubble wrap.
