great improvement
This redesigned straw cap is a great improvement over the previous cap. It works better and it doesn't make the kind of whistling noise the old cap would make. The only aspect left to determine is longevity. I haven't had it long enough to comment on that, but so far, so good.

Odd Design and Developed Mold
My original lid broke and was trying to reduce buying a complete new bottle and just find a replacement lid and this was the only one that came up. This style was different, hard to wash, hard to put back together and if the small “button” wasn’t in the hole, it would spill if knocked over. Then after trying to keep it clean, the straw developed MOLD! I only used it for water and we clean our bottles regularly. Very disappointed and should not be available for purchase with such a ridiculous design.

I love these tops
I love these tops because I drink more water with a straw on my water bottle.

Pleasantly surprised
I was nervous to purchase due to the overwhelming negative reviews and while there may be a chance that I have an update later down the road, I am so far satisfied with this cap.My bottle is over 6 years old so first off, I’m glad it fits. More color choices would’ve been nice and not sure why there is no branding on it but overall no big deal. Cap itself feels sturdy but when I flipped the mouthpiece back I thought I broke it but it’s the swivel design which I don’t see the point of but relieved it wasn’t broken. The straw is slightly longer than id like but it’s functional. Since it’s new there is a slight smell to the silicone straw but nothing too overbearing and gets better after a few washes. A lot of the reviews mentioned that it leaks but I turned the bottle upside down and shook it and no leaking whatsoever. Have to suck a bit harder to drink in comparison to older caps but it works. It’s not perfect but serves its purpose.

TOO much suction! And too many 'parts'!
I don't know why LifeFactory doesn't just have the straw thread up through the mouth-piece, and 'clamp' from leaking when folded down.I used to love their older design which at least had minimal parts so easier to keep clean... but it sometimes leaked from the vent-hole if tipped, or with pressure changes like elevation gain / loss while driving... and then the straw-part itself relied on being perfectly aligned with the top-portion valve ... so over time the parts would wear out and loose suction because of 'gap'.All that really needed fixing on that design it seemed to me, was to just get the straw longer and threaded up through the flip-valve, and make the flip-down be a pinch point! But noooo... they went into over-engineering mode and made THIS version of the straw cap, which has more gaskety things in the under-side of cap where the straw inserts, and the mouthpiece is now all 'floppy' for some reason? And the suction created (too-tight / lacking vent hole?) means you can't really get satisfying gulps! The suction fights you getting long drinks and makes big glug-blop sounds when you stop drinking. SOOOO frustrating! Especially if using at night while half asleep and thirsty, you don't want to have to put "effort' into just sucking down some water. FFS.I love these bottles, but the straw-cap thing really needs to be simplified and solved !And yes, straw is still the way to go... in bed, while driving, etc.... don't want to have to tip head back to either potential spill stuff, or loose line of sight. So yeah... still seeking the straw solution to this otherwise great bottle.

May have shipped old stock and design
After getting the product and having it smack my knuckle every time I tried to open it, A pain literally in itself and then once it spurted water all over the place because of malfunction in the second drain hole or anti-siphon hole. It did have a patent with the life factory name on the inside, but it is obviously different and not as good. I called life factory and they sent me a new one which was a little bit different as you can see in the first picture. It is the top one or the one on the left of the bottle. In the second picture, it is the one they sent me from life factory. The third and fourth Picture compare the one I first got had all the rubbery parts and the nozzle was flimsy and popped out of the holster on top. The second one I was sent from life factory really is much better.

Good purchase!
My 2 year old son uses the lifefactory bottle with this cap. It’s good quality and easy to clean. The only draw back is I see his teeth mark all over the suction straw area so it doesn’t look neat anymore but over all it’s a good purchase

Poor straw design
I LOVE my Lifefactory bottles- so much so, that I bought the exact same one when I dropped my original in the parking lot and it shattered. Was looking for a straw top, but this did not work at all. You have to jam the thin straw into the top, and even then, the mouth piece flops around. Cleaning is an issue- it looks like this has high mold potential long-term. I also trimmed the straw several times, but it kept getting suctioned to the bottom of the bottle. Disappointing. I had to throw it out.
