A must read to understand Test Driven Development correctly
Must read before deciding whether you want to adopt TDD or not. You will probably start doing TDD.After reading this book I find myself far less skeptical about the practical usability of TDD.

Introduces TDD in a fun way!
You may not get the immediate satisfaction of having gathered a huge amount of knowledge after reading this book, but some practices illustrated in this book are very important and useful. And once you start putting to use the learnings from this book, you will start to realise the power of TDD, especially in complex projects. I would have enjoyed this book even more if the subject of TDD had been treated with a little more rigour. I'd definitely recommend reading "Clean Code" along with this to get maximum benefit.

Must read for beginners
The book covers most of the basics that needs to be known for Test driven development. If you are starting to learn TDD, then this is a book you should opt for.Though, being a little experience in TDD, I didn't find this book very useful. It doesn't speak about development of a new functionality or extending something in a existing system (with weak tests or no tests) using TDD. Also the example taken is very basic, without mocks, stubs and matchers, without which testing is very hard in the practical systems.Go for it if you are a beginner, otherwise move on to some advanced book.

The kindle edition is unreadable
This review is for the kindle edition. The content of the book itself is fine, but it's a code heavy book and the Kindle has absolutely no formatting. I tried slogging through and understand the code examples without the formatting, but 30% into the book I realized I am getting list too easily and gave up. And this is when I am very interested in the topic and find the content valuable.Don't waste your money on a kindle edition, it's completely useless.

Genre-defining, legendary book
To be honest I didn't expect a lot from this book. I expected a lot of preaching and very few techniques on how to do TDD. But I was very pleasantly surprised from the very first chapter. I loved the both parts of the book with different projects. The thing I loved most was that it contained information of why's and when's of TDD. It very well expanded on the information of different TDD cycle parts. I found the information on refactoring (blue) part most.Regardless — I'd recommend at least a little bit of real-life exposure to TDD before reading this book, but YMMV.
