Make sure you know what weeds you need to control
Be sure you are trying to kill crabgrass! Will not impact Dallis Grass or Poa Annua. Just saying to examine the weeds you are trying to control.

BASF XLR8
I have been battling crabgrass for years and never had any luck with the stuff I buy from my local garden supply stores. I had doubt about this BASF but decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did. It works and it works great as long you follow the instructions. I live in the north part of Ohio and I had to apply it twice this year. My first application was around end of May or perhaps early June. Then I applied again when I noticed more crabgrass mostly spot application in late August or early September. Crabgrass is very stubborn to get rid of since their seeds can stay in ground for up to 3 years before sprouting. I am hoping to apply this herbicide no longer than couple more years before getting rid of the crabgrass for good. Good luck.

Works great on crabgrass
My neighbors don’t do anything to prevent crabgrass in their yard so I’m always fighting to control it in my yard. The overspray helped kill the crabgrass on the edge of their yard and therefore controlled it from coming into my yard. Yay! It’s such an invasive weed.

Appears effective at killing clover and drying crabgrass
I applied this product along with Gordon's SpeedZone Lawn Week Killer (+ surfactant and blue dye) to a concentrated area of clover as well as an area of crabgrass on July 28th. The yard got a lot of rain starting the day after application therefore I didn't have to manually water it. As you can see on the photo I included, 2 weeks later the clover is completely gone. I can't say with certainty that this product is fully effective since I did mix it with another product, but I have to believe that it must have helped. As for the crabgrass which I did not take before/after photos of, it is also getting relatively dried out. I will likely do another application to the crabgrass in a few weeks to see if it will help to dry it out/eliminate it further. If so, I'll provide an update on that after some time.So far though, I am very pleased with its results!

Fast kill
I mixed a surfactant as recommended at a ratio of 2 parts Drive XLR8 and 1 part surfactant. First application was by a one gallon bottle pump sprayer (1.5oz XLR8 w/ 0.75oz Surfactant). This was a bit tedious but within 2-3 days the crabgrass in the treated areas was yellowing. Within the week it was a dark brown and dead. I have just started using an Ortho hose end sprayer ant a setting of 3 to apply the second application to guarantee the 100% root kill even though I am confident that it has been totally killed. I had raked a small area loosening the ground exposing the roots and they were also a very dark brown. Very happy with the results this product delivered.

NEVER AGAIN! You've been warned
DID NOT WORK! After reading all of the positive reviews on this product I was sold on itt thanking it would pay for itself in the long run instead of buying the other products at the local Farm store. I measured the square footage of my yard exactly and mixed the product as instructed according to the square footage I was spraying. There was no noticable change in the crabgrass in the first 3 days. I searched online and read where it could take up to 3 weeks to show results. Well it's been 6 weeks and there is absolutely no evidence that Drive XLR8 worked at all.I've owned a landscape business in the past and I have used products that actually worked that I had bought from Rural King at a fraction of the cost. I am not an ignorant home owner that has never used chemicals before. I've worked in 2 different chemical manufacturing plants and own 20 acres that I apply gallons of weed killer to every year so I know a great deal about lawn care. I know for a fact that I applied this product exactly as the directions instructed using bean oil as a surfactant and measured the yard accurately. I also sprayed in ideal weather conditions as it was not too dry or too wet. I've found in a lot of other products that they weren't effective if it was too dry out as the target weeds are sort of dormant when it's dry out. This was a very expensive product that simply did not work at all for me. I read all of the reviews and felt very confident that this product would work good and would be worth the high price that it cost. I will never make that mistake again this product is way overpriced for not showing any results at all. Maybe I simply got a bad or old batch but be very cautious of paying a lot of money for something that will not work.

Works great
Killed the majority of the crabgrass in a week, the follow up application 2 weeks later killed all the rest.
