Yum! Flavor stacks up to most Indian restaurants.
Yummy indian food. Butter Chicken was a dish originally created in England take-out shops by Indian cooks. This product was made in India. The contents of packet are consistent in quality and flavor. It comes out as a thick paste/chunk that is slightly oily. Don't let the appearance deter you. The packets I received have two years until expiration date. I like this brand above others I've tried. This is a very nice pantry staple that can make delightful dinner in 30 minutes. It is fine just by itself, but I tweak it.How I use it: First, saute chopped large yellow onion in 1 tbsp oil or butter until soft and translucent. Remove onion and set aside. In same pan, cook bite sized chunks of raw chicken over medium high heat and stir until slightly browned. Add packet contents. Add 1 cup milk or buttermilk instead of water to give it more body, and return onions to pan. Some people like to add chopped bell pepper (seeds removed), but I don't. I do add 1/4 cup of unsweetened coconut powder if I have it handy, but it's not necessary. Slow simmer until chicken is well cooked and sauce has thickened, about 10-20 minutes depending on chicken piece size and brown level. I may need to add a little more water to add volume and adjust consistency to my liking. At the end of cooking, I turn off heat, then I add a tablespoon or two of buttermilk or yogurt for tang if I have it. Serve over basmati or jasmine rice. Top with toasted slivered almonds or cashews for salty crunch. A side dish of Indian spinach like Palak Paneer or Palak Dal and Naan bread is also nice, but not required.TLDR: yum! Flavor stacks up to most Indian restaurants.

Excellent quality
Excellent quality curry paste with no added salt or preervatives (thats why i avoid brands like Shan etc). I actually use this to make my version of Bengali malay curry. Two packets of this paste, 4 lbs boneless chicken thigh, 1 can coconut milk. Pressure cook in instant pot 15 minutes then slow cook 4 hours. Add coconut milk right before slow cooking stage so it does not break down from pressure cooking. It tastes amazing and the coconut milk gives it an amazing velvety texture.

Original recipe is traditional, fast and easy
I've bought this regularly for some years and it's a fast and delicious way to get a really flavorful dinner on the table. We like it best with chicken, but I've used it to great success with mixed veggies. It's about medium spicy and perfect for my non-Asian taster. Unfortunately, my last order was not what I wanted, but the new mild version in a blue box--a great disappointment, with not nearly so much flavor. I know I can always add a dash of cayenne, but, no.

Quick and easy to prepare
I like this because the directions are easy to follow and it makes four satisfying servings if you add a salad or o two abundant servings of curry is all you desire.

Quick, easy, and delicious
I won't pretend to be an expert of any kind, but I do enjoy a broad landscape of foods from alll over the world.I've used this product just as per directions, and modified in various ways, and the only serious change is that I don't find it necessary to add so much butter. I use the natural fat from the chicken components and it's fine. I add varous veggies, and sometimes a good plain yogurt on top of it, usually served over my favorite short-grained brown rice. Enjoy!

Great product from a well-respected brand
I love ITC for all their nonprofit work. Kitchens of India is a wonderful line that packages authentic Indian food for people in a hurry. The butter chicken paste does not disappoint. I like to mix in some almond paste (I use joi) and kasuri methi at the end for a creamier dish but ymmv. Regardless, please stay away from coconut milk/powder because that’s just blasphemous in North Indian dishes. This works great with paneer for a “paneer makhani” too!

Good product
Likes - Well packaged, prompt delivery tasted good and easy to prepare .Dislike - Not really a dislike, it just didn't taste like the butter chicken I'd had in a restaurant. This product din't have full cream it had skim milk powder, perhaps that made the difference. As I stated above it is a delicious product, just a different style of butter chicken than I wanted.Overall - Definitely by this product it is good !!
