Fun game! No DnD experience needed.
Easy to learn, and fun for 2-12 players. I've taught this to new players with a 5 minute explanation and a practice round or two. It's Dungeon and Dragons themed, but you don't need to have any experience with DnD to play this. The card names, art and abilities are funny and entertaining, and the game has just the right balance of luck and strategy. The Monster Madness box has enough storage slots to hold the base game and the two expansions to keep it all together. A must-have at game night!

Family time
My family and I absolutely love this game, so it's exciting that there's an expansion pack. It allows for more people to play. Easy and fun for all ages.

Family fun that's easy to learn
My family loves this game. It's simple enough that anyone can pick it up and play, but has enough variety and chance that it's never clear who's going to win. Each deck has a particular advantage and all decks have the ability to shut down or steal cards from other players, chain cards together for massive combos, and cause other unexpected mayhem. It's also a very fast game. We usually play with 3 players and a typical game lasts 10-15 minutes. We started with original deck and eventually bought them all.

Fast, fun, and savage
A friend of mine recommended this franchise to me as I was looking for a quick board game or card game to take on a camping trip since most of the games I own are complex and require lots of pieces. This game did not disappoint the camping group. It is very easy to learn and depending on how many players you have, fairly fast. The premise of the game is to be the last one standing as you eliminate one another. All of the characters are different and have different special powers/abilities. I highly recommend purchasing the other 2 character packs to expand your character selection. When you buy this box, it comes with all of the player tabs so if you buy the other 2 character packs, they slot into the box nicely. My family and friends love this game and can't get enough.

Great Family Game
Great Family Card game, each different deck/character has individuality so it is a very replayable game. You will want 12+ year olds cause the cards have reading on them, as well as you kinda have to attack people so some people get offended if you attack them over and over again. Fun family game.

Excellent, quick and simple game that doesn't tire
At its base, this game is little different from Magic the Gathering. You have a hit point tracker and cards that change, alter and reverse the gameplay. Your character also has especially abilities unique to them that are triggered under certain conditions. This box has 6 unique decks of 28 cards. Roughly the same as a Magic deck, minus the land cards. Where it differs from Magic is that cards don't have an activation cost, making game play considerably quicker. Each deck plays very differently, which leads to the fun of trying new decks. This greatly extends the fun and replay value as players will keep wanting to rotate decks, rather than getting bored with their deck as in with similar deck building games.Strategy is based almost entirely on your own hand/deck and whats on the table. Due to each player only have on average 2 cards at a time and every deck being different, there is very little strategy in anticipating opponent moves. This simplifies the game considerably and speeds up turns. Due to the small deck size, I would rate this game about 30% luck of the draw, and 70% player cunning. This box contains 6 comically themed monster decks. It also comes with a deck organizer and to my surprise divider cards for all 6 decks in the box, plus the 6 decks from the other sets. So if you own all 3 sets of Dungeon Mayhem, they all fit in this box with a container to hold the tokens. This was an excellent decision on Wizards and probably cost them a little more per unit, but it really makes the game far more convenient to play, making it a first draw when picking a game for game night or to take on a road trip. With all sets combined, you have 12 very unique decks. The instructions say 2-6 players, but if you own all the decks, there is really no reason why you can't play up to 12 players for each deck. The written rules are very simple and easy to grasp for a child. The card themselves are easy to interpret so don't expect to have any heated arguments over what a card says or doesn't say. (This is why I don't play Magic anymore). There are a couple of unique rules for larger groups. One is to prevent players from ganging up on one person, and the other allows players that are eliminated early on to continue effecting the game after they lose. Both rules keep players in the game longer and participating until a single winner is declared. I haven't tried it yet, but you can probably double up decks for an added twist. If there is any negative, its that the tokens are small, and are easy to lose. However, these can easily be replaced with a torn piece of paper.I just received this box today, and we have already tried it out with great results. My group loves this game. Its hard to judge how long a typical play will last, it depends on the number of players, but the game is no where near as involved as many other games. I would be highly surprised if a game of 6 players took longer than an hour. My group is 6 computer analysts that over think everything and our games are less than an hour.

My kids love this game
I originally was interested in this game because I love D&D, and this game does not disappoint. My 7 and 10 year old kids ask to play it all the time.It carries over themes and characters from the world of D&D, but without any of the complex rules. You don't need to know anything about D&D to enjoy this game, and if you do, it will provide you with some good chuckles as you recognize the names of certain abilities. The art is fun, the writing is clever, it's easy to learn and quick to play. A round of play can last between 5-15 minutes, so we always have time to play a few rounds and make sure everyone has a chance to win.If you're playing with 3 or more, there is a bit of strategy in who you decide to attack, so you can gang up on one player or spread out your attacks to try and steer a particular player to victory (very helpful for parents of kids who don't like to lose).Even though this game is (I think) technically the expansion pack, I started with this one, and am glad I did. It includes a box that fits all of the cards, so I almost feel like this should be the base set, and the others the expansions. We loved it so much we ended up buying all of the other versions. This just gives you extra characters to choose from for a little more variety, but other than that no added rules. I think the monsters are the most fun to play, but each character option has a unique set of abilities that come in handy in their own ways.

So fun!
Such a fun, quick game. I bought it after playing it at a friend’s house. It has been a hit at all of our game nights as well. Easy to learn, quick to play, and the art is great. You can play with a large group or just 2.
