I Bet You Can't Tell I'm Wearing Them Right Now
They're on my head! Thanks Alto Music for the great deal on a "renewed" pair of these amazing headphones! They have arrived safely and the "renewed" part is a pleasant surprise. I contacted Alto to clarify just who "renews" the headphones ... Is it Amazon? Well, all Amazon tell us is "This product is inspected, tested, and refurbished, as necessary to be fully functional according to Amazon Renewed standards."But that's not very clear. It sounds like Amazon is claiming it's in charge and signs off on how well the renewal is done. But, I'm happy to clarify, a person replying to me from Alto Music, who sells these renewed sets, told me they are renewed by Neumann! Now that's all I needed to know!So now, we solved the price issue! I know I'm not alone!I pulled the trigger! Stardust is playing in my head as I write.A lovely presentation, nice box (which apparently is muy important), and the headset is built beautifully. It appears as new in every way. It also sounds perfect! So, the headphones are a home run, as expected. The pricing makes for a nice thirteenth inning purchase (as I was not planning on spending over five hundred on headphones, probably ever). The renewal's like a new uniform, clean and perfect! And the sound of the phones is superb. Definitely a grand slam! Now y'all leave me be for awhile. I've got some listening to do! Cheers!

Yes.
The people who make the most coveted studio microphones in the world also make headphones. It performs as you would expect it to: perfectly.I bought my pair renewed but they appear to be brand new. I would 100% recommend these to musicians/producers, they have essentially replaced my monitors. This all said, I do use Sonarworks in tandem with these, and that's where this becomes a real winner. They are robust, comfortable and with Sonarworks, sound absolutely wonderful. No crazy coloration, no overhyped bass. Just pure, raw audio. The photo shows them next to my K240s, which I purchased many years ago and love dearly. The NDH-20s I consider to be a perfect first reference, with the K240s being a perfect second reference.

OK. So some will breeze by this and write it off but a few notes on some really nice cans
I have had these for 6 months.Positives:1. The sound is very good. All of the good reviews on this refurb are correct.2. The case is a nice storage alternative keeping the cables and unit protected.Issues:1. The muffs are simply small. If you are a man you may have to rotate these to get your ear inside them which leads to the bigger issue...2. The muffs do not sit flush to the side of my head. If I push the bottoms of the muffs in with my fingers the sound gets significantly better. I have been researching how to get the headband to squeeze more tightly which I should not have to do at this price point. I have seen this mentioned in other reviews and I concur.3. These are not as comfortable as alternative HPs on the top of the head.4. I have AKGs and they are more comfortable, fit my ears better, but do not have the sound reproduction of these. I find myself trying to decide if I want comfort over sound or sound over comfort and pick the pair.

Excellent. Accurate.
These are wonderful for tracking AND mixing. Best closed-back headphones I’ve had for mixing. Very accurate. Flat response. They take a day or two to get used to but I now love them. Highly recommended.

pretty nice, plenty loud, and mostly comfortable
I bought these because i wanted an all-round set of headphones that would work equally well on an airplane attached to an ipad, connected to a decent DAC, or connected to a mixer. Sound quality is great, getting better. Build quality is top notch, they seem sturdy and willing to take a bit of misuse. Comfort-wise, they tend to get a bit annoying after a few hours. But that's only been on a plane, and quite frankly after a few ours everything on a plane is a bit annoying.

Don't pay full price
This came like brand new and sealed with all accessories, probably my most premium refurb experience yet. Works perfectly as intended. See no reason to pay full price if you have this as an option.Flat, flat, FLAT response, no hype at all. A mix of guitars, drums and bass sounded supreme once all was said and done. Would still recommend SoundID Reference or a similar virtual monitoring plugin if you only mix with these without monitors.
