When I first received this book, I thought it was just another book on playing games. This could not be more wrong: Not only does it trace the history of games, but it introduces persons influential in the modern game genre. It even does into the psychology of gaming, the why of gaming, and the reason they are so important to so many livesAlthough this is listed as a juvenile book, it is a book that adults can enjoy; in fact, a friend of mine teaches gaming at the college level, and even he found it very informative.Even if gaming isn't a recreation you might be interested in, you should find Game Logic a worthwhile read. I did, and, though I don't play at all, found it well worth learning the "Logic" of the play.
