New Look Sewing Pattern 6866 Misses Dresses, Size A (S-M-L-XL)

It's a good pattern ,easy to understand

The pattern was in good condition and just what expected

I bought a sewing machine a few months ago, and I wanted to try sewing a garment. This pattern was a perfect choice for a beginner. I completed the project very quickly. Literally in half a day’s time. My dressed turned out great, just a little bit big, It would fit me better if I used one size down, but that’s my bad. I plan to make more dresses using this pattern. Very stylish and very versatile dresses.

I bought this because it reminded me of the easy shift dresses I made by the dozen back in the 70's. This is a multi-size pattern. I chose my size based on the measurements chart, but the dress ended up being far too big on top, so much so that I really couldn't take it in without taking the whole thing apart. Once you cut one size (M in my case), some of the lines for other sizes (S which I apparently should have used) are already cut away and gone. I might be able to resurrect the S size by using the facings as a guide (at least there is a set for each different size), but haven't tried yet.

I can make a lot of nice outfits with this

I’ve never sewn garments before but wanted to try. This pattern was easy to understand and follow. Only basic stitching, the recommended fabrics are easy to sew on the machine and I’m happy with how my first ever dress has turned out. Also, 5 variations can be made with this one pattern so it’s very good for practice.

The illustration for this pattern makes the dress look like a flattering little A-line but it's NOT!!! The finished garment measurements of a SMALL are 40-42.5-49.5 - quite roomy in fact, which is why I gave it 5 stars for comfort. There are 3 neckline variations and 2 lengths, so I suppose you could say it's a versatile pattern ...
