The GVM TQ-L Teleprompter looks and feels like a well designed device, but it has some shortcomings.First of all the size of the glass is big; it's in a trapezoidal shaped frame that is about 18.5x16 inches. This would normally be a positive but, finding a case to fit it is almost impossible. Another reviewer suggested a carrying bag for barbecue box. I don't think I'm bringing a BBQ carrying bag on set. The exterior of the box that it comes in measures 25.75x20.5x8 inches. If you add a monitor then you'll need a deeper and wider case. I'd suggest a case that measures 31x21x13 inches (exterior). I'm using an old Thermodyne case for an JVC camera. I would have preferred a Pelican 1730 case, but that is not in the budget.The 15mm rods and rail system looked like a positive, but then I wanted to add a 15" monitor. The distance between the rails in not standard. They measure 110mm, not 100mm like studio rail blocks or 60mm like smaller rigs. I wish they would state that in their specs or used more standard distances. Funny thing is the distance between the monitor rods and the camera rods are 60mm. I'm having to jerry-rig the rod system so that I can attach a monitor.It is well built with mostly metal parts, with only the knobs being plastic. You'll need a couple of Allen wrenches to set it up. The plate for the camera is big (about 6x3 inches).
